New to Pharma, Do We Really Make A Difference?

So, I’m new to Pharma and just curious about this. My product is the leader in its specific drug state. We have the lions share. However, I feel like all I do all day is drive around, say hi to the front office, check sample closets, bring food, get a signature, and go home. I’m having a hard time getting more than a minute from some of my providers when I flip the switch to talk “business”.

Docs don’t wanna talk because “we all already know about your product, bud”.

I get I’ll have some that listen and play the game and some that are complete jackwagons, but is this really what this industry is? Overpaid catering for office cows and MDs that don’t care to see us even when we have “THE” product?

Also, that’s not just what we’re being spoon fed by corporate. That’s actually the truth.

Yes, driving around is the norm for most of your week. Your territory plan will be a joke and the corporate targets even more of a laugh. Especially, since most are NO SEES. Yes, it does get monotonous and you will feel like a glorified caterer. Yes, the prescribers may give you a hot second or sit at a lunch, but safety & efficacy are not the questions anymore. It’s all about coverage, pull through, co-pays, deductibles and the occasional jerk that asks what your product costs at WAC or 100% out of pocket. Learn which offices will really help you when you need a lunch or have to show off for the DM. Ride it out, because sooner than later even your class-leader med will call for a reorganization or layoff. Most of us in this industry past 15 years have had at least one layoff. Most important, the grass is rarely greener with another Pharma company. I’ve had awesome coworkers over the years jump ship for a bio startup or great territory. But usually it’s the same bullshit in a different bathroom. Good Luck and welcome to the ShitShow.

son, do you even understand you work for one of the most corrupt, if not the most corrupt industry invented in the history of man?

let that sink in.

now, do you really want to lose your soul for a few bucks?

my advice to you is to start a business centered around something you love to do.

this industry is for stupid people that will sell themselves for money or for people too dumb to know what they are actually selling (look at side effects, and the continual lawsuits) or working for.

good day!
