New to Cafe Pharma looking for feedback

Looking for some untainted honest feedback if anyone reading can provide it - I have the opportunity to interview with PL while currently working in Pharma at a company that isn't going under but is strapping cement shoes on the reps to save itself. Do I bother interviewing or am I trading shit for shit? The recruiter can't quote a base salary for a GI specialty rep, I'm currently making 85,000 base - is it worth wasting a vacation day to interview? I'm located in the Northeast - how are the managers? Do they micromanage to the point of paranoia?

If you think you're being "targeted" or "looked at" for any real or false reasons, by all means go to the interview. You might lose a bit of base, but you'd still be in the ballpark. It would be better to take a 5k hit than to be booted from your current job 6 months from now.

The only question is do you really want to work hard? Not hide in a pod and drop off some lunches, but really work? most pharma reps don't remember what that's like. It's a decent gig for those who can handle some rejection, don't mind chasing forms, and will actually work a full day.

I couldn't be happier since I left the mind numbing world of AsrtaZeneca for this gig. Much more rewarding and i don't have to deal with management types that promote greenskeepers to specialty sales positions because their spouses "encouraged" their hiring
