New Rochester layoffs?

Good luck trying to find out without asking those that currently work there. The Democrat and Chronicle is silent, the company is not talking, those that get laid off are too busy looking for new jobs to care about talking about Valeant and their useless policies and ridiculous claims.

Just ignore this company. Those that were laid off are likely better off than those that remain. At least they will get new jobs at companies that treat them with some dignity and give them some hope for a future.

Sporadic from a few depts - maybe 1 or 2 from each. No slaughtering. Waiting for the "big" one in October (so they say/rumors).

As far as i have heard, the rumors about an announcement in October is not far from the truth.
It'll be like the WF plant, rumors first followed a few months later by the big hit.

Its going to be hard for the Rochester plant to compete if at all possible against the WF plant not that the WF workers have agreed to the 7.5% pay cut and other cost saving measures AND the tiny amount of corporate tax paid in Ireland.

I wouldnt be surprised if Zeus returned home to the Emerald Isle from whence it was originally going to go. The Paddys are no idiots, they'll take Rochester jobs in a drop of a hat.

Watch this space..........

Yeah, heard the Zeus going back to the WF plant rumour myself as recently as last Friday.

As mentioned above, its gonna be very difficult to compete with our Irish counterparts after the deal done with Pearson & Co. i.e. pay cuts, loss of bonuses and the Irish state giving millions of Euro to Valeant to stay put AND the tiny corporate tax rates there to, its no wonder they announced the first of many new investments into the WF plant just days after the unions agreed to the pay cuts etc.

Just when we think things are looking up for Rochester the Paddys out stroke us and things all of a sudden take on a different light when looking to the future viability of manufacturing in Rochester.

If Zeus does go back to Ireland, it will be the death knell for Rochester manufacturing I reckon, and its just MY opinion.

Right. Zero chance.

Are you trying to pretend you're from Rochester? I can hear your accent from here.

LOL. You got it. Clearly somebody with zero information is trying to provoke a reaction. It would be great if posts were confined to questions or sharing of real information.

I wouldnt be too sure about that, people said what youre saying above on the thread about layoffs in WF for months and hey presto...it all came true
