Republicans have made it clear that they are staunchly against spending billions of dollars on rebuilding American infrastructure. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham apparently wholeheartedly supports spending billions of taxpayer dollars to rebuild the infrastructure of Libya which has billions in assets invested with oil money. On Fox News, the GOP Senator stated that, “We can go over there and help them build their infrastructure up.”

Of course, Graham isn’t talking about schools and roads, which people need. He’s talking about putting American boots on the ground to take control of the oil fields. “I’m glad it ended the way it did. If we would have kept American air power in the fight it would have been over quicker. Let’s get in on the ground. There is a lot of money to be made in the future in Libya. A lot of oil to be produced. Let’s get on the ground and help the Libyan people establish a democracy and a functioning economy based on free market principles. When it comes to weapons control. We need to get teams on the ground now that can assist this government to make sure that this stuff doesn’t fall into wrong hands. We don’t have much of a presence. There is an opening, get people on the ground.”
