New reps

They will start everyone around $72,000. They will also tell you you can double that with commission. Not as easy as the company states. It also depends on where in the country you are. If it is in the Midwest under James Straza, RUN! If it is on the East Coast or West Coast, those managers are much better.

The potential is there in any part of the country.
You just have to work hard and stay focused. Some territories are newer in the company so the RVPs and RDs are spending a lot of time working and getting them established with the reps.
James is extremely successful and pushes his people to help them be successful.
You obviously couldn't hack it here, so you left or you are struggling here and would rather bitch than work. No wonder you suck.

James does not push his reps to succeed. He comes up with absolutely useless reports that we have to spend hours completing. The only manager that ever helps his reps is Scott M. James is the definition of micro manage to death. We are all adults, and very capable of selling, so to hold our hands and dictate what is an appropriate account versus allowing us to use our knowledge of what is a good account is ridiculous. He will tell you that you should not pursue an account because it doesn't fit his idea of what will be successful. Funny, those accounts he has you surpass have the potential of being great accounts.

It has nothing to do with being able to hack it here. It has everything to do with allowing us to actually go out and do what we know how to do, without being handcuffed at every corner.

I came here because I loved the VAP test. I cannot wait to get out of this hell hole. It's not that I "can't hack it". I just don't need to spend hours documenting everything I say, filling out charts and I don't need to be treated like a 10 year old. Oh, and there is no need, absolutely none, for your manager to check up on everything you do behind your back. But that is what they do here at Atherotech. If this type of thing appeals to you, you will be very successful here.

Training has become much like "Pfizer's" model. Role playing, harassment, testing, etc. The new Director of Training made all of our lives miserable this last class. Ego maniac. We aren't Pharma, but it sure keeps moving to that model.
