After sifting through multiple posts of impending layoffs and gloom I was surprised to see multiple postings for oncology positions. Is there a new drug launch or just a mass exodus of onc reps leaving? What's the story?

Come on over and get some Onc experience. That's what I did. Spent 2 years with Novartis Onc then switched over to Amen making $95K salary + $50K bonus. I'm sure I'll move again in another 2weekend years. Beats the $60K +$20K bonus I banked last year. Who gives a shit. I'm 28, single and living large in St. LOUIS, MO.
Novartis Oncology is a great place to get Onc experience! It's like Oncology Lite. Plenty of old reps you can learn from yet so many people it's easy to get lost in the croud. I did my 2 year sentence about 4 years ago making just under $100k with bonus. Now my salary is over $100k. Join the herd. It's a no brainer.
Everyone is jumping ship. Happy Christi?? Isn't this what you wanted so you could put your J&J contacts in positions??? Just like you placed Kelly Moron in a VP position with only 20 years of Pharma experience which I heard some of the leadership positions she held were bogus. Nice!!! Did you notice you were in Novartis Oncology where 20 years experience is small compared to most of the people here????? Lets keep replacing good people with morons. That will make this company a success.
This national meeting is going to be the biggest joke. Remember Christi, everyone in the audience is looking to get out of here and looking for a job!! No pipeline presentation or "we are the right size" talk is going to change anything. We will all smile and drink the Novartis Koolaid at the meeting, but we are all out of here to bigger and better things. Bye Mass Market oncology, hello Biotech and Device!! It will be so quiet because everyone will have their phones texting recruiters during the meeting!! This place is rough, need to get through the holidays and get the heck out of this ass backwards company!! Lots of good companies hiring now and next year!! Heard Ipsen will pay over 150K bases to those with Sandostatin experience for carcinoid next year, and Amgen is sucking up the Novartis Oncology reps for XGEVA in Prostate!!! Next year is gonna be a party!!

Just got a message that we are to upgrade to Office 2007? What the heck, isn't it 2012? Christi is on the ropes, everyone read her latest email!! Successful transition, umm what are you smoking? Everyone good went to Celgene, Seattle Genetics, and Incyte. We are leaving on out own. We took the hint and we are out of here!! By the way, getting iPads is so 2 years ago!! Weak!!!
Hell you won't see the iPads until the end of next year so I guess it will be so 3 yrs ago once we really get them.
My wife says she likes the oncology position, but says it hurts her back.
These new positions are to squeeze a little cash out two indications for two drugs that will not net much cash. Territories are gigantic and some reps have already left for more money and smaller territories. SEGA and Acromegaly are not the diseases that fill clinics. They'll realize soon that the meager sales will not justify the salaries and benefits of these people. Put more cash in savings folks, you'll need it in another year when they turn you out!
SOM wont see the light of day in the US for some time to come.
