What's up with the new VEGF drug for AMD from Regeneron? Got a call from a recruiter. They are interviewing for Account Manager positions. What does this mean for Lucentis?

Prove it! What is the sales salary? How many options and at what price? Put up or shut up.

Huh! Prove what? You stated that the salaries suck, and that the options are worthless. First off, the onus is on YOU to state your understanding of the salaries; the word "sucks" is not only childish , but very subjective and really doesn't mean anything. Secondly all stock options are "worthless" when you receive them, as the company does well the difference between the "strike" price and the "actual" price grows, and that is the value to the recipient. Also, these grants are usually given on a regular basis, not only once, it doesn't matter how many are given when you start, especially since most companies give zero. So again, you make crazy statements with no real facts behind them, then me to prove "what"?.

You did just prove one thing, you have no idea what the salaries are or the bonus opportunity (BTW options have an initial price jerk-off). Go back and shut your door at Turdgeneron. Don't you know your company tracks what you do on your computer.

I do not work for Regeneron, but just keeping it real. I think I just proved that you spout off angry craziness, but with no substance. You made a claim about pay, yet you supply no facts. BTW, of course all options have an initial price. If you re-read my post, you will see that I refer to it as the strike price. Here's a lesson for you, every single stock option is worthless on the day that you receive them, that means ALL. The value only comes in if the price grows, as you get the difference between the stock price, and the sale price when you sell.

So, why don't you calm down and take a deep breath. Why all the insults? Why are you so angry? I work for the same company that you do, there is no reason to be angry with me, and there is no reason to hate or disparage Regeneron, or any other company.

Right, you're Mother Teresa aren't you. What do you expect when you come to a board like this? Go away!

Regeneron salaries suck! All they are offering is hopes and dreams of worthless options.

The package rocks! 130-140 base, uncapped bonus, stock options, full benefits...plus the opportunity to be part of a sales force of only 50-60 people and a start up. They know what they're doing. For those of you who have knocked it, you'll think twice once you realize what this company is capable of...

I do not work at genentech but whoever posted this has no idea what they are talking about. I was offered a job by regeneron and the base was 35k less than what I currently make. Options look good, if they are ever worth anything. in the end I turned it down. to much of a salary decrease, but I do think the company will do well. its a start up, so normal start up risk.

I was offered a position with Regeneron, and the previous post is absolutely correct, on the high end you could make 140, the average is probably around 120k. Please note that these salaries are not just pulled out of a hat, there are surveys done which include virtually all drug companies, and they all know what the going rate is. If you are a rep, and you have a salary of over 140k, you definately fall outside of the range of what most companies are willing to pay. Your salary is that high likely due to longevity and nothing else. So yes, if you started working at Genentech 10 years ago at 115K, and you averaged 3% per year in raises, your salary now would 155-160K. Very few, if any companies will start a rep at that kind of money. In closing, the fact that you are bound in platinum handcuffs, to Genentech, does not mean that the salaries for Regeneron are low, THEY DEFI ATELY ARE NOT! I can attest first hand.

Gauranteed, salaries are very competitive!!! Of course offers were made based on experience, etc. So if you were making in the 80's then maybe you get an offer of 90+. If you were making 105, maybe you get an offer of 111. If you were making 120, maybe you get 126K. If you were making 165, maybe they dont even interview you at all, or offer 135-140 which is really the max at what most companies are willing to pay. In fact every postion in a company has a min and a max, and 140ish is really around the max at which most will pay. Again, maybe a few outliers will go a little higher. Usually raises are tied to inflation, if you exceed max. Bottomline is that there is but so high that you can go as rep rep, but 120K is more than plenty considering what reps actually do.
