Docs are less than impressed with the efforts thus far from Medicis and imiquimod (that's the generic name for Aldara/Zyclara for those of you at Medicis!). Apparently, taking a staple drug in the treatment of AK's, sBCC, HPV and numerous non-labeled indications and going in and saying "here are samples and coupons", showing them a new delivery system and asking for their continued support isn't cutting it. Just like Graceway - not understanding the science of how it works, not continually differentiating it's uniqueness from the competition and simplifying the message to nothing, has destroyed the potential of this product. 3M was criticized for being "too scientific" in it's selling, but did a great job of gaining acceptance of this drug to have it all squandered away by so-called great derm companies. Sales and marketing people from both Graceway and Medicis should be ashamed, and held accountable, for their lack of knowledge and abilities to promote this product. Maybe you can still get DS to come on board, I heard he is still unemployed, and he can ramp up sales with his "frontload everything, leave licorice" speach. If nothing else, you have made the Picato, Solaraze, and even Carac reps happy by not having to worry about you in the derm offices. Way to go Medicis....maybe you should have kept some of the Graceway reps that knew this product to assure the upward mobility of imiquimod.
