New BHBU Comp plan

WTF, bait and switch. Averaging down the pay rate and increasing the goal from 50 to 100. Here is the scenerio. Hit goal at 50 syringes= $7500. About 300 (65%) did not even sell 50...wake up!!! Now Q2, Amgen wants: 100% growth (50) and 100% repeat injections(50). Not even realistic using the latest VP report.

The low performers gets a break that they don't have to pay back Amgen by zeroing out their bonus for Q2. That is bull since it is being covered by the top performers by reducing their rate of payout. Demotivating!

Hibernating for Q2!

This is one confusing plan. Wonder when Amgen had this plan in writing? They should have revealed this at Q1 at the beginning of the year. It is much easier to accept to be paid at the low rate from the beginning. Lowering during a Selling cycle is unheard of.

What's so hard about the plan? If I sell so many syringes I get x in the first quarter. Then in the second quarter, if I sell so many syringes, I get y. The target went up in Q2 (because the forecast went up). Hence, the payout per syringe went down. Pretty simple. No gates, thank goodness.

Spoken , like a true Manager queer, you buy into the koolaid, thats cool, just don't bitch when your district sucks! I am sure after a few too many field rides everyone will see the light, or have to look into it..

How many syringes did you have to sell to get your quarterly bonuses before the drug was even approved? Quit bitchin' about a quota of 100 - the IBU's is 109.

For the year maybe....IBU isnt even calling on the R for Prolia, the reps in my area don't even know how the drug works, where to get it, who pays for it, and what the drug does

Not a manager. But love the derogatory, classless name calling. I don't see you denying it's a simple plan. The goal may be challenging, but the plan is as easy as it gets. Monster.com might be a better site for you to surf.

To the r***** up on 3rd post......you need a refresher course on Algebra. It is not a simple math of Q2=S1-Q1..........maybe it makes sense to you since you didn't hit a goal of 75. But for many of us who exceeded goal are being deceived. This is not a true 190 a syringe!.......really screwed up people working on IC!

You are so right. It hurts the people who got paid $190/syringe. You will now pay back the company a certain percentage - averaging down. There is not a lot of us hitting 75+, so the people below don't care or don't understand the math.

Yep, this is definitely a way to purge people for their hard work, hold on this ones gonna sting a bit!! we have already lost a load of people from here, get ready they are steadily leaving. lmao, Amgen , may need to step off that hobby horse, they are losing some awesome people in key areas in the field..

is it true that if you don't sell the minimum units then your bonus is zero?

Just look at the open spots on the VP report-more will be leaving. The new hires have NO idea what they are walking into. All I can say is GOOD LUCK, you would have been better off staying at the company you came from. Remember all that glitters is not always gold! Amgen is a good company with great benefits but the BHBU is not where you want to be!

What happened to the post where someone broke down the payout scenarios, etc? WTF!

That is because management doesn't want reps to see the truth. Numbers don't lie. They are embarrassed that the comp plan team could not figure out every person selling 149 syringes for S1 will not getting paid the same. It is based on their Q1 performance. LOL! Before I work, the comp plan has to make sense. This one is the most unfair plan I have seen in my pharma career.

Vacation time!

I cannot believe CT signed off on this. What would happen to Prolia sales by demotivating top half? Do they think that lowet half will pick up their pace? Simply put if Amgen wants to hit goal they better find a way to keep top half happy! I hope you are reading this SB!
