Neurosurgical Sales Representative - Job Requirement Question

"What you need

• 5+ years in an outside sales position (medical related fields or b2b sales preferred) or Bachelors Degree from an Accredited University"

Most of the sales positions on Stryker's career site require or prefer candidates to have sales experience - is there something about this role that differs from others in terms of Stryker not explicitly requiring candidates to have sales experience? Is Stryker's image of an ideal neurosurgical sales rep different from that of other sales rep positions?

I ask these questions from the perspective of someone with ~15 years of healthcare industry experience (no sales experience) with a BS (currently pursuing an MPA) who would like to transition into a medical device sales role.
