Neuroscience blows

Glad to see beeman kicked to the curb (still think GG is ok so far), but the directors left behind all suck. Every other division looks at neuro and scratches their heads. When they leave neuro, reps seem so friggin happy to be in another division...why not start over and wipe the slate clean in neuro. Question 39...what a friggin joke. It smacks them in their face and yet they ignore it! They just beat the hell out of people until they smile and take it and then say everything is better. You wanna make things better..replace a few directors...start in PA and work south.

I don't agree. Rep's "maybe happier" in other divisions- but the other divisions don't get results. You have to remember we are running a business here. The coddling and hand holding that goes on in other divisions is sad and well known by the decision makers inside. MSK is a joke of a division- completely unnecessary division with plenty of neuroscience rejects on the sales side. Cardio hasn't even sold enough to cover the salaries that are being paid to them- another division that is sure to see cuts. Diabetes is full of mediocre performers. Our oncology reps are the joke of the industry when compared to other companies.

The Neuroscience division has directors that ask a lot out of the reps- this is 100% true. But when a promotion comes down to a rep from neuroscience and another division- the neuroscience rep almost always gets it. It is well known within the company that the best representatives are in neuroscience and that they are proven performers.

I have also been in other divisions. The accountability in Neuro is higher than the other 2 divisions I have been in. In the other divisions my district and area did not make goal. Sub par performance had become apart of these other divisions culture. Also the other divisions selling skills were quite poor - it was all about closing b/c none of the products had any good data - no one in my old distrct found any value in any in the data or manager coaching. Neuro is a lot tougher, but a lot better division. I could not take going back to other divisions.

I wish these weren't anonymous, because I'd love to know who the joke is that wrote the above comments.

I agree the best talent- inside- comes from Neuroscience. They are better at figuring things out and just getting shit done. The other divisions have lower expectations for sure- and shows in the work ethic of most of those individuals.

Neuroscience is almost a separate company when it comes to culture. Its not for everybody- not everybody could handle it.

Neuroscience blows! The good talent has long gone - only the brain dead devoid of ambition and drive can go day after day of selling an old product with no new data. Oh by the way - cardio bites even more than neuroscience! We all know it - let's just admit it, sell off these "has been" or "never were" divisions and be done with it! The good reps won't care - they're already gone!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Based on the past decade of no tangible value produced... all divisions are in deep do-do.

Maybe the new head of Oncology can produce something, where Gus couldn't. If not she may end up with the same fate :(

She should end up WATANABE·WORM·ƒØØÐ

First business she needs to do is get rid of anyone who thinks personal genomics will be one day Lilly will make money (That means 25 scientitsts and 80 juniors = 20 million in saving). Then hire only Nobel prize winner (4 X 3 million each; 25 PhD from Stanford/Rockefeller); Give three years to have a total turn around. profitably would be 15-25%. Sue, squirm those old bastårds. Don't let them fool you.

"Neurotoxins" is not a stretch. Seroquel and Zyprexa shrink brains.

Do you mean to say that there are medicines on the market that have side effects? Who ever heard of such a thing? Zyprexa may cause brain tissue shrinkage for some patients, but if the Zyprexa keeps them from believing that the dog next door is plotting to take over the fire department, then a little brain shrinkage is an acceptable trade-off.

Prescribe it for toddlers, they CRY and ANNOY...pacify the ELDERLY--CRUSH, KILL, DESTROY. Then combine with CIAlis...boy oh BOY!

I think we have good reps across all divisions. That said neuroscience is definitely a harder division and expects more from the reps. I've worked in diabetes, neuroscience and now MSK. And average person can look good in diabetes and great in MSK- you have to be really good to stand out in neuroscience. Just my opinion and I've been in 3 of the divisions and have friends in cardio and oncology (the biggest joke of them all).

You sad neuro reps are on the titanic and still hoping the band may play 1 more song. Your management and division have cost Lilly every ounce of its reputation with off label promoting. Your sales directors refuse to let decent reps move on to other divisions because they are selfish. Their hope is just in case we pull off a hail mary and get a new neuroscience drug by August they will have their favorite drinking buddy around for national meetings. You hang your hat on how much revenue the drugs bring in, but forget to mention that at this point you really aren't selling anything, all of that was done in 2000-2004. its all about price and contracts for the big places isn't it?. You take shots at the MSK division and the Onc division but would probably trade places in a second because atleast the patents on their key drugs last atleast 5 more years. You have 6 months before you are phased out. This diabetes expansion is the liferaft, except your captains are telling you to stay on the ship. I feel sad for you all. You trust in people who have been doing this job way too long and only have their own interests in mind.

So true...
