I don’t see any approved products on the company website applicable to this job title. What is coming out soon? How large will the territories be? Any insights on salary range?

Don’t get too antsy Miron, the company will screw it up like the MS team and most other teams. Plus, there’s a slew of current reps who are waited for the ax to fall so they’d possibly have an inside shot. This is Genentech 2019, not 2002 when all they glittered was gold.
 




I don’t see any approved products on the company website applicable to this job title. What is coming out soon? How large will the territories be? Any insights on salary range?

There is a SMA drug and a Huntington’s drug. Jobs will do both as of this time. Territories will probably be a bit large. Not sure in salary range but in line with other rare disease jobs. Jobs have been posted to the outside so they are now looking at outside candidates.

Perhaps the company is clueless, but the Reps in the Field made the MS Launch of Ocrevus the most successful launch in Genentech History, MS Launch History, and Industry History. We experienced Reps don’t listen to marketing, and the hilarious tactics of employees that don’t know anything about the MS Market. We simply make things happen.
 




SO sick of the obno self-adulation from MS. You had an outstanding drug and you're experienced reps but, hey, most of us could have done the same under similar circumstances.
 




They passed up some experienced internal candidates for some external candidates they have no history or real year end reviews on? Anyone can say they made president club....
I thought Genentech took care of their own.
Some business units have 25% of the people laid off but Neuro Rare Disease is looking external? It’s BS!

Hope you didn't pull a Hammy doing your100th "best launch in history" victory lap. I look at the MS launch and I am thankful that the molecule was simply fantastic. Once again. Humanized Rituxan saves the day.
The reps that were well educated in injections and pills had a rude awakening when it came to infusions and B&B. Remember the cries that reverberated around the nation? "We should be paid on SMN submissions". "How come we are not paid when a patient starts GATCF". The blame everyone tactic actually worked while you were woefully unprepared to meet the demand of the marketplace. You also prioritized your relationship with the practice ( you were hired simply on you knew what day was best to bring lunch) while unwilling to have any sort of difficult conversation around medical benefit drugs. You also were exposed when your cronies at the corner specialty pharmacy bailed on you.
Genentech isn't the place it used to be. It still is better than working for Biogen...... I mean the MS team.
 








Hilarious how clueless legacy reps at Genentech are regarding the MS Market. Sorry you didn’t get hired internally, and lost to an external historically successful MS experienced Rep. Ocrevus is in fact a good molecule, but again the ignorance regarding how easy it is to generate use is priceless. Without the external folks that came here to launch this product Genentech would be in a world of hurt. Of course never mind it is the most successful launch in history. Funny how these legacy folks never knew what work mean’t until Ocrevus.

Oh come on you sold an MS drug that any doc would Rx. This drug MS drug to helped the 15% nothing worked for, it has superior efficacy, safety and was cheaper then the others so got managed care preference. Sell a drug that was not as good or equal and have the best launch ever then talk to me. you sold water in the desert
 




So much jealousy directed at external hires for the MS launch. Without them, the launch would have been a disaster. External MS Reps knew Marketing didn’t have a clue, and laughed at all the snot nosed MBA’s thinking they were reinventing the wheel.

Here’s a little secret we external hires did to make Ocrevus the most successful launch in history. We leveraged our relationships, we utilized our years of MS Market experience, and knowledge, to make it all happen. You internal folks from other franchises have zero clue what makes the MS Market run. We would rather you simply say thank you, rather than launch insults as we continue to save “your” company.
 




I did the video interview today. Next steps reported as phone screen with hiring manager and then panel interview. Hiring to be done in August. Any one else have any useful information?

What a moronic comment. When I read this, I was stunned. You're an idiot. The reason you're an idiot is because you obviously sold shit you didn't believe in. That's your own damn fault. A smart salesperson is only going to go after opportunities and drugs they believe in.

Lastly, whoever takes this job is a moron. The territories are huge. If you don't want a life and want to constantly travel and be away from your family, then this job is for you.

What part of the country are you in? The managers haven’t even been hired. They won’t even be interviewed for a few weeks
 




I have a work colleague who has already done the phone screen with the hiring manager. She had a personal referral though. It said up to 3 weeks to review the video interview...
