Need info on ITB Division

Received a call from a recruiter about a SR-2 position for the ITB division. Can someone please give me some insight on the pain pump, selling difficulty, quality of life, etc. I don't want to waste any time if I won't like the gig. Recruiter said it's 170K total comp and no on-call. Told me this is a "career type of position."The money sounds terrific and would be a step up from what I'm making now. Please help.

Downside. Travel but not like it once was. A lot of doctors don't want to mess with it and the commitment that goes with it so they are referring their inplants to teaching hospitals for the procedure. That may combine and condense your load but a lot of patients are thinking twice about traveling a great distance for the inplant and service.

A lot of patients spend considerable time on the internet and beleive every negative they read about every product. There is considerable misinformation to be found. Ironicly they tend to get good feedback from patient driven web boards where the success cases talk about their return to a more normal life and give prospective recipients a more accurate discussion on what to expect immediately after the inplant and do provide needed support in the early days.

No on calls? How do they handle after hours problems? These things don't happen between 8-5 Mon.-Fri. They happen after dinner on Saturday night. LOL.

A lot of prospects whose first choice was the pump five years ago, are now trying the scs first as it will be less of a hassle if travel is involved. Try to get some feedback on these issues if they seem important to you.

Good Luck.

On-Call will depend on the region you are applying for. Also, are you applying for a position as an ITB rep or a Neuromodulation rep? There is a difference whether you are selling pumps for pain, ITB or both. What region are you applying for?
