Need help on getting MCO to authorize Intuniv for ADD

Hey Guys,

Fellow rep here for different company. My sister-in-law called me tonight asking how she can get Intuniv approved by her MC company (Humana) for her son's ADD. He is up to 3mg now and she said that they are requiring generic first. She told me that the dosing is 1 1/2 BID for generic vs. the 3mgXR. There is NO difference in Copay between generic and branded and, as we know so well, compliance is better with the once daily.

Please let me know any strategies we can try to get the PA!

Thank you!!!

The generic is not indicated for kids or adhd.
Have your sisters doctor write this on the PA or call the MCO and ask them how they would like it to be dosed.
Also all patients have the right to an appeal process with their Manage care.
