Need advice! Manager riding in reps car for field rides?

New to medical sales and interviewing with companies.: Is it required for managers to ride with reps on field days if reps using their personal vehicles?? Or can managers drive their own cars and follow? Coming from an industry where this isn’t recommended for liability reasons. Spoke to a family member who’s an attorney said they advise against it and no company should require it esp im using my personal car. Is this the norm here and do I just let them know once hired?!

Great post. You should immediately tell the hiring manager during the interview process that your cousin is an attorney and by no means should said manager come near your vehicle in any capacity once you're hired. State upfront that if they do, you will pursue legal action against them and the company. This shows perseverance and the never say die attitude that companies looks for in a new hire.

This is the dumbest fucking question posted. If you’re so concerned about this tiny, insignificant minutiae stick with your pharma job (oops, meant Uber Delivery) job.

It is IMPERATIVE that you make this the focal point of your candidacy. Adorn your resume with various mid-level sedans, each one covered with a red X....this will show the "Boomer" manager that you and others new to the industry that you will no longer accept the status quo.

Great advice. state firmly up front that you are not going to be taken advantage of.

Companies love honesty so you resume will be at the top of the stack.

Actually, it’s not a dumb question. Your response is stupid. You sound like an idiot manager. Companies these days are extremely litigious and only look out for themselves and ways to cut corners on employee benefits.

Appropriate answer is that Medtronic provides fleet vehicles and coverage.
