Natpara Chicago Rare Disease Sales

I fully expect smart ass answers but I’m hoping not. Can anyone provide any feedback on what it’s like to work here? I was contacted by a recruiter and thought I’d reach out on here because many people will give true, candid responses. Thanks for any replies!

only if you want to get rare experience...and that is questionable as it’s not so rare. Money selling Natpara is long gone and Shire is a mess. Most reps who launched it are long gone.
If you have no rare experience you can maybe leverage it to get a “real” rare job.
Good luck

Its not about the coverage but the actual number of patients versus Shire's forecasting. Your competitor is the Tums tablet from the pharmacy. Natpara carries a REMS certification and BLOCK BOX Warning of OSTEOSARCOMA- cancer. March into an ENDO's office and ask them. Its not a rare disease but a rare condition thanks to less skillful surgeons. Like the previous post, its a mess at Shire. Reps are being threatened with PIPs who are working hard. Really bad forecasting for a $150K yr w the risk of cancer attached to it.?!

Since the company forecast for the drug was WAY to high, have they corrected their forecast to reflect the real market size? Also why is the Chicago south location open? Was this rep managed out? What is the manager like. Thanks in advance.

i don't think they have corrected the forecast because it justified the purchase price for nps (the company it came from) that Flemming bought. Flemming has to admit he overpaid before allowing the forecast to be adjusted down. So yeah, we're screwed until at least the CEO changes. Flemming had to clean up angus' acquistion mess when he came in, and the next CEO will have to do the same for flemming's acquisition messes

So with that said are the goals in reach for the territory? I have an "interview" with a recruiter tomorrow Feb 1

I have a feeling this drug is a dud and the Chicago position is open because the reps was on vacation for the past two years. Does anyone have information to share on this position, drug, and company morale?

Run. Unless you want threats and micromanagement. The gattex side is even worse. Shire is a joke.
Thank you! I felt bad about not getting interviews with Shire for opportunities to sell Gattex and Natpara, but I now feel that I've dodged a bullet. Being pressured and working under threat of being on a plan will destroy quality of life. Too many people these days are selling their souls to corporate America and are paying the price for it. The juice ain't worth the squeeze!
