National Diabetes New Hires

What's up with these jobs and the low experience needed? Semi-contract or low end base? Since pc is a shaky environment at best, why the beef up? People are saying temporary to counter the problems bubbling up. What is the reason?

To satisfy contractual obligation with BI. Two Lilly reps per territory. One good rep is all that is needed. If we have one good one in a territory then the other can be a low paid inexperienced rep. Simple as that.

Hearing the hiring on these jobs is sketchy at best. Most walk in without much on the 'ol resume and no checkin' out the newbee. Piece of cake! Perfect sweetness for the diabetes group! Blood sugar warning ahead!

But we have to understand that reps who have been successful over the years, receiving a number of promotions and good raises, are not going to be paid the same as an entry level employee. We need to pay more for talent, inside and out. Those of us that haven't received raises worth talking about, if at all, and have been performing are going to leave Lilly if things don't change.

Seeking RNs and the like, or just the run of the mill pharma pc rep? With the market as it is extra edge in the brain department always helps. After all, Lilly is the big diabetes guy on the block. No longer are we in the days when Ken, Barbie or the backslapper pal have an edge.
