With the S3 positions in place, there now appears to be a culture of subterfuge. Discussions and decisions that used to take place between you and your manager, now have an extra set of ears forced upon you-your S3. It appears that, as the S3's have so little tangible work to do, managers either willingly or unwittingly include them in everything territory wise.
The sad thing is that, despite their lack of awareness of the issue at hand, or knowledge of the topic, the S3's no problem inserting their opinions or thoughts into decisions that shape the future of the S1 and S2 reps. This is resulting in the S3's becoming more alienated at the cluster level as their cluster counterparts realize what is happening.
Still not sure why these positions were created and suddenly granted the keys to the kingdom. Perhaps even more troubling, is the veil of secrecy that managementthem. It is not as if the best candidates even were interviewed for the respective positions. S3 positions were created for each manager or MAE to bring in their favorite yes man or woman and management is now scratching it's collective head as to why the experiment is not working in N. Texas and the rest of the country.
