We've had a ton of turnover here over the last year. The key motivation that is driving everyone out the door is the compensation. Here's why.
Base pay for entry level is on par with the industry. Experienced reps make $10-15K less than industry standard.
Time off is well below industry standard- no year end shut down.
Medical benefits are outstanding.
Bonus pay is joke. If you can make goal on Epipen (National average is 92% attainment for last quarter, 93% for Q1) you get paid out but it takes at least a month longer than industry standard to get your check. It also takes 5-6 weeks to get goals after the start of the quarter (Still don't have goals for Q3 that started 7/1). They did adjust the goals for Q1 to get us some money but it didn't stop my DM from riding my ass every day about how much I suck with my 95% attainment. The adjustment is Mylan's way of offering you a band aid for the ass kicking you just took for 90 days. It helps but the wounds are deep. Now they're insulting injury by rolling out this micro managing field coaching report. That'll boost morale fo sho... Lets pour on some non revenue generating busy work!
For Perforomist- incentive comp is an embarrassment. Still haven't been paid for Q4 2012... Yes that quarter ended nearly 8 months ago. Haven't even seen the data to know what goal attainment was.
The company explained why Perforomist payouts are a fiasco but it doesn't seem to jive* when our competition pays their Brovana reps on schedule every quarter. I wish our comp people would just call Sunovion and ask them how they do it. Or at least borrow the data from them. Their reps know what my numbers were for the last 3 quarters.
To be fair, I should disclose that I'm leaving too. I just had my final interview with RD last week and should get my offer Tues or Wed. I'll get 10 more vacation days and $12,500 raise in base. Contrary to what Mylan leadership believes- an extra thousand dollars every month and two more weeks with my family every year is enough to job search, interview and leave. As the job market has recovered slowly, recruiters have started calling again. That's why so many reps are leaving now.
If you come on board- there are a lot of great things about working for Mylan. They have some awesome people here, great products and the best managed care team I've seen. For me, the positives didn't out weigh the constant grind of changes that comes with new leadership every year and the compensation issues. Seriously... the comp team here would fuck up a two man parade.
I hope this helped.
The fact that its been 251 days since we have been paid on Pmist is just sad!
