MRK Stock

New CEO, new president of R&D, missed the mark on Covid, revenue down...don’t worry though, we sent a message to investors by naming the head of finance as the new CEO...cost cuts coming..,,.

Will miss Frazier. Heck of a job. He deserves every cent and to ride off into the sunset.

On what basis is stock issuance of hundreds of magnitudes justified? He leaves as part of the machine and contributing to a culture of "cheating" pervasive in our fractionalized society. He is no different in his behavior to drench himself in the excess executive compensation seen drench his predecessors. The game hasn't changed one iota. Power and control allow you to stack the across a wide array of things that begin with self-interest. And where was the bold social consciousness along his career ascent to the "top" of the American corporate mountain vista?

He is no Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Not even a sliver of
  • Nelson Mandela
  • Fredrick Douglas
  • Desmond Tutu
  • A. Philips Randolph
  • Booker T. Washington
These are heroes in our world history.

And I could list at least 20 more true leaders who did not exploit current events, did not excavate every last cent out of the corporation they worked and were in most cases, "wholly and consistently" dedicated not to their financial and power benefit, but to their just cause. Even though most faced failure after failure. God bless them. In stark contrast sits Kenneth Frazier, who unabashedly drank heavy from the American corporate cup of greed.

A great job - cutting the medical benefits that were promised in the Employee Handbook to already longtime loyal Merck Retirees. His legacy is he is the first black CEO of Merck & Co.
He also was late to the vaccine effort, missed some new diabetes class drugs and shut down the Cardiovascular franchise. Huck, Horan and Vagelos set us up when they left. The others Scolnick, Gilmartin , Fraser etc. just rode the wave and remained asleep at the wheel as we crashed into the shore. I was there.

Frankly, it's amazing that MRK stock has stayed so high for so long.
Besides Keytruda, where's the product line or pipeline?
MRK is a big pile of cotton candy. Pour water on it and it disappears.

Don't worry the animal health division will keep propping it up. Consider the current valuation of Zoetis is ~$74B Merck including Animal Health is roughly $184B. There is work to be done
