After today's realignments, it's clear the "leadership" at this company has no fucking clue. What a complete joke. It's no wonder the state of our business is where it's at today. Clowns, fucking circus clowns, are running the show up top. Even "circus clowns" would be a stretch to describe those up top who are our "leaders".

We're in for hard times folks, make no mistake. Nobody at this organization has the balls to stand up and say, "what the fuck are we doing here?". Complete madness. And with these people in charge, I going to have to say we are doomed. It is now clear to me now that this company is content to bend over and assume the ass rape position.

I heard that we used an outside consultant in regards to the realignments. The way things turned out, we might as well have asked some homeless man on the streets of L.A. how the realignments should have been set up. And it would have only cost us a cup of coffee and maybe some loose change. You might as well have thrown darts at a map. Instead, I'm sure we spent $1,000,000. Great idea! Morons, complete morons.

At the end of the day, I'm grateful that I still have a job and feel for those that were displaced. I spent the better part of yesterday on the phone with many bright, tenured individuals who should have never been displaced. There are many companies out there will benefit from the contributions of these people. God bless them.

At least we have ACE+ coming. I'm sure that will save us from the likes of Da Vinci and Stryker. And if you believe that bullshit, I've got some ocean front property in Arizona I'd like to sell ya - on the cheap!

You're surprised? The same individuals who steered this ship into these disasters are the same ones who think that they can bring us out. It's a clown show.

It is a ship that has no direction or strategy. We are just bouncing along and hoping that the waves take us somewhere. Of course, if you bring up the lack of strategy to the higher ups and you're labeled as "negative". Ethicon "nice" is still alive and well and unfortunately, that attitude will be the downfall of this company.

I could not agree more. Well said. I got displaced, but was hoping for it. I was planning on leaving anyway. And when I talk to other reps who still have a job, alot of them have territories OUTSIDE of where they live. It makes 0 sense. Ethicon will lose their shirts. And they should. Poor leadership. You are right, a homeless man could have done a better job. Or circus monkeys.
 


















I won't go so far as saying leadership is morons because that just isn't true, but if I were to take a look at the overall changes from a high level, I would say this is J&J's way of showing that "the business" is being taken in a certain direction -- the direction of product management, vs. innovation.

This is the way of 3M, P&G, etc... innovation will come the way of acquisition, and growth by way of favorable contract position. Paying a front-line sales org large dollars to "grow" the business is no longer viable for Ethicon/J&J.

So as we have all seen, top-side management has grown exponentially (visible via the many many congratulatory emails sent out daily to the newest, latest, greatest person to be promoted into a jargon-filled title role). Salaries have increased, more positions are in-house than ever before, and entire new departments and divisions have been started around the idea of providing customers "more" beyond a front-line sales org.

I can't say if this is good or bad, but if a high-growth, high-paying medical device sales job is someone's desire, then J&J is no longer that place.

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE. THIS PLACE IS BEYOND A JOKE. I AM SO HAPPY THAT I GOT DISPLACED AND HAVE MONTHS OF SEVERANCE. ANY PLACE, I MEAN ANY PLACE IS BETTER THAN HERE. GETTING LET GO WAS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME! I EVEN TOOK A PICTURE OF THAT EMAIL ON MY IPHONE FROM THE SD.....

Sad part is everyone thinks all these people are going to leave and this company will just die and fall off the face of the earth. However nobodys leaving not after they just dodged a huge bullet and the company will continue to make a shit ton of money and be perceived as a leader in the med device sector. The same thing was said last year when they got rid of reps and nothing changed. The company made money and the reps didnt quit.

It is natural to have these feelings about Ethicon after being let go, I get it and I dont blame you. I just hope that the people who are still here have a plan in place for the next time they get rid of reps (there will be a next time) so you dont get caught without a job. It truly sucks cock.
 






I didn't get displaced but I'm so unhappy about management and the way this place is going, I am looking. Thankfully I have a few interviews lined up. It is sad because I truly wanted to stay but just can't stand the thought of working for these assholes any more. What an embarrassment.
 






The place is a joke ... You need to be in th club to get a promotion and don't really need to know your job, just kiss up and suck up some one's wrinkled bottom! Graduate from the same school that they did and you are all set ...

Anyone who works for Johnson and Johnson and is not double dipping is crazy. This entire company, no matter what sector you are in, is entirely too unstable.
