Moronic things Supernus makes you do

The Excel documents that corporate forces you to use (territory planner and itinerary, to be specific) are ineffectual and poorly formatted. The database I engineered to plan my territory was much more comprehensive and contained more relevant information for our upcoming ADHD targets than what corporate offered. But I was still forced to manipulate my data to fit their small-minded idea of what it SHOULD look like. It took hours of unnecessary work just to fit into the company mold. What will I use on a daily basis? Mine. What will I be forced to spend hours per quarter updating to their platform? Theirs.

I’m assuming people will say that they make us do this because not all reps are so thorough, but we should be given the option (as professionals, and as adults) to use their platform or offer something that includes the information they “require” but that uses our own preferences for formatting, etc.

And the itinerary. The thing that we spent MORE hours on at POA, that they KNEW was going to be trash and would have to be redone anyway, but yet still forced us to complete it there? Why? Half the targets had to be removed, we had no pertinent information such as days off etc, so what was the point of that? I still just had to turn in a completely new one, again in a poor format (though I do appreciate that they have made it easier by auto-populating).

The 10/5/5 model is unrealistic, doesn’t take into account that you might have (oh dear!) 21 targets in one area, (oh no!) 19 targets on another, and it is yet another example of Supernus treating us like children instead of reps with 5 or more years of experience.

Rant over. Sorry. Obviously, I just spent the better part of this week trying to export my wonderfully clean data into their spreadsheets and am highly annoyed. But life will go on!

You think you know more than Gary?

The amount of busy work we are required to do is ridiculous and a waste of time. Launch mode or not the inability to be flexible or listen to the reps actually working these territories is mind blowing. Complete disregard for anyone’s opinions or thoughts, would rather just barrel through and do things ass backwards and work with extremely out of touch requirements. This company is such a joke. Leadership is laughable and I actually feel really sorry for most of them. What sad existences. Hopefully they don’t actually know how disliked they are.

Is it too much to ask for the auto populator to list targets in alphabetical order! Also what are we suppose to do if we have multiple targets in an office?

pro tip: type the doctor’s last name, first name (SMITH, JOHN) and it will fill in for you. You have to type the whole name exactly as it is listed in your targets.
I scrolled through that list forever before figuring that out.

Let’s restructure the sales operations department with competent people that have actually held a sales role in the past decade. They’ve failed us on providing tools to actually be efficient, they have failed us on providing modern targeting tools that we need to see real time Rx data, payer stats, other Supernus contact details, oh and almost forgot.. they failed us on building a bonus plan that they could pay us out on! They are the weak link at Supernus, not us, they will need to take responsibility for a mediocre launch, not us.

Original Poster here - despite my issues with the poor tools/formatting and the forcing us to produce itineraries/territory planners that are ineffectual purely for the sake of having something to show corporate, I will say this:

If you think this launch is going to be “mediocre”, then you must not have gotten in front of many ADHD targets yet. By and large, the curiosity and excitement about having SOMETHING new in the ADHD field has been very encouraging so far. If you haven’t seen that, you’re doing something wrong on your end.
