This place just gets crazier! Now they are "hand picking" HAMs to get better severance packages! I am beyond fed up!! We hang in through the awful leadership changes, the disgusting behavior in HI, a domestic violence charge only to hear that this slime ball leader is personally calling a few HAMs to offer better packages?! First of all how did this person not get fired and now is allowed to totally discriminate and act like a hero?! How stupid is Cubist to take on this mess, this one will not end well for sure. The people who got your "special" phone call are disgusted by you!
 






The real question is why are you still at Optimer. Take control of your future. Either get ready for battle or get out of the foxhole and stop complaining about leadership inappropriate actions in front of a few. Sucessful people make things happen even in the face of adversity. Don't let others choose your fate or hope someone get fired so you can be promoted.
 






Is this rumor or fact on the added severance? How do I talk to these people? If this is true then al the HAM's need to band together in protest. Now is the time. They need us more than ever to keep this going until the deal closes.
 












This is fact! 32 hand selected HAMs get additional severance, the rest will be let go. The psycho leader has already started making calls. I got a call from someone who personally spoke to the whacko. Strung out on red bull and full of sh%* as always. We do need to band together, they don't respect any rules or regulations that protect employee rights. Action needs to be taken at the top already, this is the last straw.

Well if they are being retained then why would they need the extra severance? Is that just good faith to prove to them they are staying? When will the rest be let go? Any clues on who the 32 are that got "the call"? I also have other plans in the works but just want to try and get more of a timeline.
 










































no one at this point is being hand picked and it certainly wouldnt come from RC when cubist deal becomes final they will decide who and why to fill certain pockets most will be let go sad but true the cubist CEO was the only honest response ive ever heard in my two years here i will enjoy a nice dinner, drink some expesnise whiskey take my severance an move on thanks for false promises optimer and a lot of failed leadership and BS
 






Dis-heartening. Is it really necessary to fly all of us to NJ next week and where ever else in the country that the VP of sales and RSD's are holding in the next week or so? Would be great if they cancelled those meetings and give us some notice.
 






Glad people had the balls to ask questions to the CEO of cubist about plans for sales and kudos to him for his transparency. . I can only imagine how the circus plans on appeasing us during these dinner meetings.. what a colossal waste of time..
 






He's the President not the CEO but that does not matter. Yes, he was clear that they do not expect to expand their sales force. Yes, if your lucky there may be a vacancy in your area or they might add a few here or there but most are gonna be let go.

Yes, some HAM's have been given and extra couple of months severance. These are the ones who have higher than average numbers (mostly large ltc pharmacies in their area). They want to keep them around as long as possible but in the end most of them will be gone too. Those with lower numbers, they pretty much hope you leave on your own so they don't have to pay you severance or health insurance. Seems like at least one manager is already in the process of trying to drive some reps out.

Worst two years of my career and happy to see it end.
 






Sad day for sure. Cubist has a plan but with the kind of reps they have Dificid will continue to struggle. RP was kind of smug with his responses but as someone said the only truth we have heard in 2 years. Be careful with what people promise, Optimer sold us a bill of goods and we tried to sell docs a bill of goods. Just rambling as I think of the past 2 years and the good people who are here. Industry is not what it was and many of us will have to retrain ourselves to survive this Obama economy.
I agree, lets cancel these meetings, we will only be forced to put on a positive face.
