Mood at Hospira

What is the current mood at Hospira home office now that Pfizer deal was announced? Are people generally optimistic? Will most home office people remain in Chicago?

 In C Suite area, It's Champagne,Balloons, and Party Poppers. They ponder future investment strategy and options. They start looking for new venues/markets to sucker others and the game Goes On!

How can the mood be good at Hospira? You don't cut $400 million in year one and a total of $800 million without chopping a lot of bodies. Does anybody think that Pfizer will keep Hospira Finance, Accounting, HR, Customer Service, Credit etc. departments? There is probably little chance of that. It is questionable whether the buildings in Lake Forest will even be occupied within 2 years. Hopefully, most of the employees had some HSP stock in their 401Ks. The odds of that aren't high.

I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show. Watching upper and middle management for the next 9 months be consumed with trying to build alliances, change political positions, posture and kiss Pfizer's management asses. All 2015 goals will be ignored, no one will be held accountable for anything because management is waiting for Pfizer to set a new direction leaving all of us in limbo. All management will be focused on themselves. So, I can sit back and surf the net, look for a new job, come to work late/leave early and take as many "sick days" as I want.

It will be the best comedy to watch and we will be pulling a paycheck to watch. How great is that!

Then for the next 6 months after that, we will be watching Pfizer up and comings posture themselves to expand their kingdom and influence with Hospira business. Hospira management will run around tying to figure out which Pfizer management to gamble on and kiss their ass.

So, I have a good year to sit back, laugh, take all the latitude I can get and get paid for it. By then I'll have a great job lined up with a new company. Thanks Hospira!!!!

It's a comedy that you star in and you're the one that loses in the end. You won't find a job for equal pay in 6 YEARS let alone 6 months ! You been hanging here 7years, day and night ! I don't believe a dam word that you post on here

YOU ARE KIDDING US,,,RIGHT? Oh, people are joyous and happy, at last something is going to change.....my life, my income, my future. HA you had to be smoking something when you posted this

I think the mood is mostly uncertainty...will i have a job? will they move the office? will i get a pay out ? who will stay ? who will go ? I feel sorry for the people who have put in so many years with Abbott and Hospira. Some are not yet at retirement age. This acquisition is going to be tough for a lot of people. The lack of internal communication does not help either !!

Make sure you have your resume up to date and get onto LinkedIn , monster, indeed and some good job sites. Have something ready....just in case.

Bad advice!!! Find and get the job offer NOW! Then, with an offer in hand, see if Hospira honestly planned to keep you or is just blowing smoke up your a**.

TAKE CONTROL - don't put your career in Hospira's hand.
