Mmgt Overload

I've never worked for a company more obsessed with having Mgr titled individuals than Arthrex. No question... Great products and many other top notch attributes that this company has. BUT... Arthrex could be so much better if they would change their stubborn model and go direct.

We have more managers on the west coast than sales reps. Too many people stepping on each others toes in accounts with the same customers and surgeons are fed up. Regional Leadership out here would rather a "manager" convert business vs the TM. Complete backwards thinking. Reps are tired of the overload of managers as well and no wonder TM's and ASR's don't develop like the other companies.

Turnover continues to be off the charts here compared to other companies and Regional Leadership says "it's just the way it is!" Ha... the 15%-20% growth yr to yr is coming to an end! Decrease managers and invest that money into better contract status!

Also need to trim the fat from Corporate Sales too. How many layers of Sales Management from Arthrex Corporate need to deliver the same message to me in the field? I have an RM, a sports manager, bio manager, Client Optimization Manager, RD, Senior RD, etc. all telling me to do the same thing. Ridiculous.

Part of the reason Arthrex is implementing this model is to help improve retention by giving reps a “manager” position. What ends up happening however is exactly what you said, you’ve got 7 people trying to do the same job and everyone has a different title or name badge. Also, if you make somebody a manager over a division in the city the non compete now encompasses the entirety of the distributorships territory, making it harder for these reps to leave and take business with them. The business model is an absolute joke. Great products but horrible model and poorly compensated. The turnover is higher than any ortho company across the nation

Yes.. a reality show for sure. Our mgmt team in our agency is a disaster and like a Survivor episode. Too many of them trying to justify their job with "who converted who" Too many of them in labs. One in particular is the root of all the drama. it's toxic. if your a TM you have more supervision then any other company in the world. Let the TM's do their jobs.

Agree 100%. They move TMs into these managerial roles, which now means their non compete is valid for the entire distributorships geographical region. They cap the “managers” essentially by placing them on salary with very little bonus opportunities and limit the commission per rep by flooding the territory with more reps. It’s hard to believe this isn’t by design by corporate. Arthrex has become a stepping stone and has one of the highest turnover rates in the country for medical device.

No Bros... you're all wrong. Try having your top surgeon come to academy booth and before you know it 6 mgrs standing around you slurping trying to take credit for something. If you're really lucky to be in the midwest region the famous new RD (Buellllllleeeerrrrrrrrrrrr) might bless you with his shiny presence at the booth. joke

Let’s see…..
Distributor
Executive VP
VP of Sales
Director of Sales
Business Development Manager - Sports
Business Development Manager - DX
Business Development Manager - Arthroplasty
Business Development Manager - Biologics
Business Development Manager - I/R
Territory Manager
Territory Sales Consultant
Territory Sales Associate

Different name badges and colors like a bunch of 8 year olds in a fucking karate class getting their belts. How many managers does this company need?

To the last post, I could not have written it any better. Those positions sound like this. I’m the owner of the agency and I want to hook my boys up with high paying jobs, so let me make up
Some bullshit titles. Man the agency models are such a joke, either your making money or your a slave. No in between, it’s amazing how these agency’s are run.

Being a rep for a very short time with for a few Arthrex Consultants at Mayo means absolutely nothing. He has no idea how to sell or run a territory and can't believe he is in his current role. He will have anyone fired who intimidates him. ZERO COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Literally a TM at Gotham cant even go to the bathroom without 20 managers escorting them. This company will never get it
