As a doctor implanting medical devices to save patients life, how could you have any faith in this company. These are some scary facts coming out in the open.
Today is good day to say you work for Boston Scientific. I am so proud to say I work for Boston Scientific. I will never walk into a hospital again with my Boston Scientific scrubs. I might get beaten up.
Now I fully comprehend why so many talented people have left this terrible company.
My resume is on the street. Good riddance
"As a doctor implanting medical devices to save patients life, how could you have any faith in this company."
This question first came out in 2004. It was reasonable then. Seven years and multiple new recalls later, its completely ridiculous.
If a doctor implants Boston today, there can be a few explanations:
1) He's mostly a brady guy. Boston's pacemakers are fine, but so are everyone else's for that matter.
2) He's been hemmed up in a group or a facility that made a volume commitment to Boston. Price has trumped safety.
3) He's grown too close to his Boston team and has "Stockholm Syndrome". He feels obligated to supporting "Tim" because it's not Tim's fault that his company sucks. Tim also gets great tee times in a pinch.
4) He's grown beyond the desire to learn. BSX are the products I know. I can do 4 ICD's a day since Tim and I have a "rhythm". If I go with MDT Bob, I have to teach him my rhythm and (even worse) remember that its 12 turns with their lead instead of 8. That means 6 months of hour longs cases, and when you multiply that out - it means no boat.
5) There are no other local reps. The volume wasn't big enough for STJ or MDT to gamble on it, so Tim the BSX guy is the only game in town. This lack of volume also meant that MDT and STJ were unwilling to come off their pricing, so it didn't make any since from a financial perspective either.
6) He's never seen a Boston device fail in his clinic. This one is understandable.
So, OP, your question was "...how could you have any faith in this company?"
I think faith stopped being a deciding factor years ago.
