Wtf is with this co? Metrics up the ass and conf calls 20 times per week? How the hell are we supposed to get anything done?

Get anything done? Like what? Go see some targets? They just saw your Pod mate yesterday, and another Pod mate the day before that. Why on earth would your docs want to see another Novo rep today?
This company creates busy work in order to justify all of the positions.

Actually, you have 3 conference calls per week and CPC is your only metric (besides Sales). Quit making stuff up.

Yeah, and what about all the time I spend at the gym, talk on my phone about non-work related issues with personal friends, run errands, knock off "early" fake calls to make said metrics, lie about personal use of company car, and get paid well for a career skill set that doesn't translate to any job outside of this industry. Waaaahhhh. Bunch of morons. Our expectations that everybody is complaining about are considered part of an everyday job everywhere else. Grow up.
It is the same at Sanofi. I clocked the busy work and cc's last month. 1.5 days worth of b.s. that's a loss of 7% of a month.
P.S. how many to a pod in NN? The reason I ask is because I only see one guy consistantly. The rest of his team are ghosts.
Even if degludec hit the market, we'd have been tripping all over each other.

Lets just hope that when they realize they need fewer salespeople that they also thin out home office. Plenty of jobs there that add nothing to the bottom line.
Which jobs are those? You seem to be an expert on Human Resources and manning requirements at the home office. I'm always amazed that there never seems to be a limit on what a rep will claim to be an expert on--Marketing, Management, Medical, HR, ET Decisions--the list goes on an on. Oddly enough, you only seem to be marginal at your own job. Look at what physician data says about how our sales reps compare to the competition....not so good.
I'm sorry the company is asking you to work, during the work week. Must suck to get paid what you do and then be excepted to work too. I work in the home office, I don't get a company paid vehicle. I also don't bitch about having to work doing during the work week. I just go in the building, do my job and I leave like everyone else. Maybe I should bitch about the meetings I have to attend during the day in the conference rooms? I also don't have the chance to win company paid trips to places like Hawaii and Bermuda, ect like you guys. Man, your life really sucks.

wow, I must have hit a nerve. Perhaps its your job since you got that defensive. I don't claim to be an expert but when doctors say over and over don't show me that "crap" meaning the marketing materials how many people would you say are vulnerable in Princeton? None? Soon we'll only be able to sell from the PI. Then lots of people would be gone and bottom line wouldn't be effected.
You only hit a nerve in the fact that Sales reps think they know everything about everything. Go read 99% of the posts on this site and you'll see Sales reps telling everyone else in the company how to do their jobs. Just do your own job and quit trying to be an expert in everyone else's job.
Plus, if you show multiple doctors a Marketing piece and they all call it crap, perhaps you can shoulder a bit of the blame, rather than placing it all on a glossy sheet of paper. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you, not the glossy, are the Sales person, right? Just asking....
Is this in the NY metro area? A lot of reps are getting fired for faking calls. One of the NY regional managers has an initiative to monitor activity and manage out slackers. I know foir a fact that 4 reps are skating on thin ice.
