Why would the RSSs be motivated to reach 1000 bottles?
KM has stated on multiple occasions that "the money is not in the budget" for merit increases. Why work harder for KM to get his bonus when 1000 bottles are reached? It is the holiday season. Sit back and cruise. Send a message - No merit increase, no 1000 bottles.
 






This place blows your hope for a decent job out of the ballpark. It is definitely management by fear and intimidation. They don’t care about professional development nor personal enrichment. You are here to generate NBRx with no significant reward as compensation for your efforts. The RSMs behave like puppets, too afraid to do the right thing. You are easily replaceable is the message. Correct, Opko does not deserve the 1,000-bottle milestone. Yes, cruise and coast in Q4. This place is not worthy of your hard labor.

So True! They don't care about treating people fairly. As for managing by fear and intimidation, this place reminds me of that show where the dance teacher constantly screams at her dancers (children and teens) that everyone's replaceable, humiliates and intimidates them all in the name of achieving her goal of motivating them to win competitions. While there is no screaming here ( unless I'm not aware ), putting people on 30 day PIPs that end in 2 weeks gives the same message. PIPs used the right way are supposed to be a tool to help employees improve and when uses appropriately often do, They are not be used just get to rid of people. lets face it some territories aren't going to produce no matter who is in it. Apparently, Opko management missed that memo. How many RSS are gone since Jan. Over 30% of salesforce? That's a huge # for 10 months. How can Opko afford to keep replacing reps. ( one quote from big pharma was 60K to fully train a rep -7 years ago) and since Opko mgmt thinks they are justified what does it say about how inept they must be at hiring the right people if they feel they have to let so many go. Personally, I think mgmt is more the problem than bad reps.

As for managing by fear and intimidation, this place reminds me of that show where the dance teacher constantly screams at her dancers (children and teens) that everyone's replaceable, humiliates and intimidates them all in the name of achieving her goal of motivating them to win competitions. What makes matters worse is that we have a NSD that continues to bad mouth the good people that left opko. This behavior at most companies is unacceptable and condemned. He is the most unprofessional, inexperienced, unqualified, intellectually challanged person in the history of the industry. No wonder why the company is behind in its projected sales.
