via Three years after first blue-printing plans for a $1.3 billion London research hub, Merck will (hopefully) finally break ground on the new center.

The 25,000 square-meter (269,000 square-feet) campus had originally been penciled to open this year. Along with a separate commitment from Qiagen to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on a new facility, the plans were a central part of the life sciences growth the UK government was then sketching out as a key pillar of the post-Brexit economy.
