Pretty doubtful as a base. However, since it ophthamology, it would be appropriate for their eyes to bug out.

how would they know your salary it's not on the online app. Don't think I would go from Oncology to Ophth...

Well you were asked to bring the application with you to the interview, there was no fax number or was it fill online. The only option you had was to fill out and print. Yes the application asked for starting salary and ending salary, So Merck knows what your salary is(was) unless you fudged it. And the question is will they match it is up in the air. A job I applied for knew my salary, but they offered less and said that was the max they would pay so be ready for them to offer less, because with this economy they can! Good luck with the interview.

I left Merck in the late 90's and my base was 54000 plus bonus. My bonus was about 25,000.

Merck does no pay top salary. Their bonus structure is low.

Today, those peole I know, make around 75000 base.
