Merck beaten by Pfizer - why do I have MRK

I was just going to post this article. A company with a history of landmark vaccines and other cutting edge therapies, now humiliated by a rival known for falsely applying the results of the Simvastatin Survival Study to Lipitor.

MRK began its downfall when it hired a non-pharma business exec as CEO years ago. He allowed MBAs and assorted egomaniacs with no respect for George Merck's vision to make key decisions.

Profits over research---not a winning vision.

Pfizer developed their own antiviral drug. MRL is clueless.
Lol. Pfizer has scientists and are smart and work hard. Our scientists are a bunch of introverted idiots would could not handle working at Walmart. We get ours from crappy schools like Rutgers and penn state. Good schools but does not produce good scientists. We used to get the best. Now we have a bunch of re-tards . Maybe we will follow the gene pool and hire the offspring. Keep the chain going.

MRL scientists are nothing but TARTS.

Hopefully we can acquire some more drugs in later stage development because our scientists can’t seem to discover anything and just about everything in early stages we have acquired has been a bust…

Amen to that. Does MRK have a future?

MRL Scientists

Inventing for Life!
At some point one would think the board and investors would question the ROI on our research spend, including multiple misses on acquisitions of early stage compounds…push a shift in strategy and spend to acquisition of late stage compounds and products on the market, stop dropping billions into research for very little return

you are so wrong because our previous CEO was a lawyer and our current CEO is a bean counter. These are the people we need to innovate and inspire new innovations in science. Pfizer is so dumb they hired a guy to be their CEO who has a strong science and health background - that is not going to work out well for Pfizer. Sure, Pfizer created a Covid pill internally and has fantastic efficacy but we bought ours from a company out of Florida for a huge sum, who had bought it 2 months prior from a university. Our pill may be considered a joke but at least a lawyer and bean counter got the deal done. Let's Go Merck!

there is a reason a bean counter was chosen as our CEO, goal not innovation but cost cutting, down sizing…
