Heard there were meetings to explain the merger and future plans. Any new info?

New name is Zimbio.
Trademark / new name is in the approval process. Its a 3 month min based on gov backlog.
Not sure if colors will change.

What a huge waste of time! Absolutely nothing new presented by either Binder or Dvorak...just the two of them spewing vaguely on about all the "opportunities" the merger would provide....Dvorak must have used that word 20 times in an hour long monologue...his speech seemed like a regurgitation of upper level management presentations....seemed like he didn't understand that he was speaking to the rank and file employees....

The sales force doesn't care what we are called. Name it Biomet. I am a Zimmer rep. The customers don't care either.

rumor has it the name is a combination "Temoib-Remmiz". Both names spelled backward to personify the direction of the organization.

Love the new name ideas - be sure to get those to The 2 Bobs right away to show them you are management material. Would love to see someone come in one day and just start gutting a fish at their desk (cubicle, if you're at Zimmer, office if at Biomet). Maybe right in the lobby of bldg 3. I don't understand how z's stock price is through the roof, when this is bound to be such a mess of an integration. Look at Synthes and jnj - that mess is still ongoing. Welcome to the "Pillars of Excellence" talk, Binder. You'll have the buzzwords memorized in no time.

At least Biomet got a meeting and they took time out of their busy, important schedules to talk to you. At Zimmer, employees are hearing nothing (as usual). There was an email letting everyone know who was going to be heading up the integration efforts (like the email that let everyone know it was happining in the first place), but it also contained a blurb about how they were not able to answer any questions yet. I think that is pretty much it at Zimmer so far - a couple of emails. Stay tuned I guess.
