Medtronic Total Joints

They want in bad. Looked hard at Smith and Nephew then Hanson got the Zimmer job and looks like they want zimmer now to get that little spine market also. Medtronic isnt messing around, they wanna spend some serious cash and with Zimmer in its current state of problems this might just happen. Medtronic will have a total joint line soon, just a matter of who. Medtronic gets Zimmer and Stryker gets Smith and Nephew, back to the same old plan. With new tax law this has way better chance now.

Expect a big shake up soon. Hanson gonna bring medtronic style to the joint game and try something different.
People who were with him at Cov and then Medtronic popped the champagne early with the news he had left. Then the rumors started he was sent to ZB to spend the next 12 months preparing for the acquisition. The next year should be the most interesting in Orthopedics history as Stryker and Depuy will need to get moving to stay in touch if Medtronic moves on us.

It's not gonna take a year. This quarters shitty numbers won't be on Hanson so he will try and have Zimmer as cheap as possible for Medtronic. It's in the works for sure.
Possible

I don’t know about cheap....the stock has hung on better than expected even with the last few bad quarters. New CEO gets a pass on the numbers and any drop in the price will quickly get bought up on the expectation/assumption that things will be turned around.

Zimmer and Medtronic.... Can Hanson pull it off? Hanson has been real quite as of late about this subject. Medtronic still want in the total joint business, or they finally give up?
