Medical Solutions Division?

Division reports up to Andreas Noe (AV Integration and Medical IT Director). He reports to Bob Reinhardt. (Executive Director of Service...uhhhh WEIRD)...This all runs back over to Richard Reynolds as EVP Sales.

Can't speak to comp...as an integration unit their comp was tied to the projects with comp sharing with the medical/surgical sales reps...

As for a place to work...they have no solid direction..like monkeys throwing skat at a dart board...that may be more entertaining and less painful to witness...

Agree with previous poster.. DOA division...give it a year before throwing away any current careers..if desperate and unemployed..Apply...

The bag is: EndoAlpha (System integration), EndoCapsule (GI pill cam product), Endoworks (GI image manager/ procedure notes software), and a software package to manage the OER Pro Scope Washers.

All of these are red-headed stepchildren products that are 2nd or 3rd in their markets by a large margin - at best.

I don't see this lasting long.

Somehow the company went from being fat, to an extreme cutback, to now fat again... I expect cuts in at least 2 years.

You see the same patterns of expansion and contraction run their course. Truthfully, the same cyclical patterns repeat regardless of the company you look at....sign of the times....they all do it in an effort to meet the mighty earning expectations and forward looking statements.

I miss small, quality private corporations that were truly on the cutting edge of innovative technologies that increased quality of life. Too much now is smoke and mirror voodoo magic bullshit that simply attempts to create value and need. I worked in it too long to know the difference. We are helping to perpetuate astronomical healthcare costs and all pointing fingers at politics, necessary advances and/or inadequate reimbursements.

Do we all really need to push a brand new platform to a facility that just upgraded technology last year? NO..The NEED comes only to meet our number and feed our own individual greed.

Many of us will staunchly deny this until we or a loved one is on the cash paying side of a procedure.

Totally agree with you as it pertains to capital equipment under 4 years old, especially video.

There are many products that save money and reduce procedural costs but many ORMMs are too inexperienced to do a cost analysis and then have the balls to go fight for it. I laugh when I see these Stryker reps sitting in the OR with their techs to provide a "service" like a fox guarding a hen house and the hospital swearing they are saving money. What a joke.

What is the real deal with the Medical Solutions division? Do you really believe it will be DOA? At plan is supposedly $160K. Would this be a smart move selling the Endo Alpha, EndoWorks, nd EndoCapsule product lines? I heard Olympus was a good company to work for? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'll just say that it is the last division you would want to work for with Olympus.

I'd say there are better associate and support roles with the other divisions than with Medical Solutions.
