Medical Sales insight needed
So I’m currently working on my AA and I’ve declared my degree in business. I know I want to be in medical sales but I’m not sure how competitive it is. This is my plan and if anyone has any suggestions of what’s needed and not needed I really appreciate it. I have 3 years of sales experience selling to homeowners. (Flooring and roofing, not medical related) and I’m still currently in a sales/ management position while in school.
My plan is to
-Major in Business, Minor in Biology
-Do 2 summer internships. (Local hospital, medical sales office, something medical related)
-Then after I graduate do a 12 week Ortho program and a paid year long internship at the medical Sales institute
The medical sales institute supposedly has a 86% match rating for matching alumni to employers
In the meantime I’ll try attending some conferences and networking.
Am I doing to much? Or do you think everything in my plan will help me start my career in medical device sales. Also if anyone has any suggestions of something else I should be doing I’m all ears! I currently only have one connection to medical sales and they’re out of state so they probably couldn’t help me with much more than just mentoring. Thanks in advance!
