Marti's throwing a party!

I was able to get the details on the April reorg. According a real reliable source, my abm who is on the fast track for Marti's job eventually, it is looking like this:
55 and over: 2 years severance depending on your years of employment with the company. If your over 55 and 10 years in you get the 2.
50-55: A year's severance along with some bonuses thrown in for length of service.
Under 50: If your close like 49, exceptions will be made. If not, then you better get yourself in gear and be ready to work almost around the clock. Airwatch on the iPad. Managers doing week- long field rides. Calls to your customers to see how effective you are.

This is going to be a great time for some people and a bad year along with some really miserable years to come. If your smart like me you'll hold on to the 50 mark and take the money and run. I know one rep in the first category with 750k in the J & J 401k alone, 200k in company stock, about 80 thou in options and a pension. We should all be so lucky. Or smart.

If you are over 50 I advocate construing an exit strategy. Start interviewing now so you can double dip. Don't bother working because they're scared to death of firing anybody over 50 because of lawsuits. I know one rep who told his RBD to go F himself and the RBD did nothing. The rep said they guy was so intimidated that he was almost crying.

Who comes up with this shit? If she has been the mastermind of wide scale layoffs why are we still hiring? 3 years in a row with restructure with no layoffs. We are at a critical point in launch and we are going to layoff? Restructure, yes. Layoff, no. Unless you suck, much like yourself.

Your mama was the best teacher.

Sounds like you really made the company bennies work for you. 750k at 50 is impressive, and 200k in stock almost beats mine. Sold a boatload of options at a tick under $95 and still have a ton to go. I'd take that year in a second and have a another job in a few weeks. I would hate to be hanging around here for much longer. Good night ladies.

You are an idiot. The reason we're hiring is because we will need a bunch of new blood to replace the older reps who are getting the golden parachutes. New reps, young reps, green reps, reps who basically know nothing about science, relationship building, or selling. You know, like yourself, only a little younger. The new company challenge is "Are you Mediocre enough?" If you answer the question right, you're on the way to management. Just look around. By being kept, you're being told that you're not really good. And that's just fine with us.

Oh yeah? Well, Mister Smarty Pants, I AM mediocre enough! So there! I am so mediocre that even though I didn't win Presidents Circle this year my manager is naming me district rep of the year. This is at least the 3rd year in a row that I have won it. That award has a lot more prestige than some stupid old President's Circle where only the lucky ones win. The real award is the District Rep. Look at the ones who won it last year. What did they get? Only ABM jobs, you moron. So Marti if you read this and I know you do, remember me and the other reps who get the district rep award. We are your future and we can meet the company challenge question.

I just heard it from a reliable source too. 1 to 2 year's pay for 54 and up. Pension eliminated if you're under 50. Sweet or sour deal depending on your age. I'll post more details as they come in

With clueless management, increased scrutiny and pressure to drive sales at any cost, a pension that is about to go poof, and the crown jewel Remicade ready to "plunge off the patent cliff in 2018" as the WSJ puts it, anybody who gets that golden cushy offer to retire from here until 2018 should be happy happy happy. The older reps who are nearing retirement are going to make out sweet, because the company is scared witless to risk an age discrimination lawsuit even though a big one is rumored to be coming soon, and fat severance packages will stop that. This is a bad time to be here for everyone else, because eventually Remicade is going to dry up and so is the need for so many positions. Your bonuses will shrink, and the meager pension you have vested already will be less because it will be based on weak money years. Then the big layoff will come, and there will be no offers of severance. So get your budgets ready to live off unemployment. No more expensive trips or private rooms or expensive wine or any of that stuff you base your self worth on. Good luck. You're going to need it.

No, I heard close to the same from my abm who is super tied in and being groomed for a senior executive level position.

If you're over 55 you should leave anyway. Old reps in this company don't have any idea what they're doing. They don't know how to stand up to a doctor and challenge them. Be bold or be old. That's mine. It's original. I bet my abm would like that.

The gravy train started with Procrit and transferred to Remicade. Unfortunately we don't have anything to fill that void when Remicade dies. For once in the last decade plus, JBI will need to operate on its own. No purchasing a blockbuster and gut it. Just sales 101 and how to act like a grown up company. Too bad all the talent has left the company after being treated like crap. I love the posts by the little children when the write how much better they are compared to the more experienced older reps. Ok it is time to see what you got kid. Let's see how fast you can create a 4 billion dollar franchise.

Company not hitting its numbers. Crown jewel division failing with Remicade, Simponi, etc. If you're over 50 hang on until April. Marti's party starts. If you're under 50 start working on a reason why you should not be terminated. Bad time to be in this industry. You should have seen the end of the gravy train coming.

"If you want it to work, you have to work." This is what I write in my book. Google it and you'll find out who I am. I think you're going to hear Marti and management quoting a lot from it this year.

Oh yeah, Mr. Smarty Pants? Well we also have someone who writes the book on sales wisdom, and that is Mr. Rob Brussels. Perhaps you have read his book Brussel's Sprouts? I bought three dozen copies myself to give to family and friends at the Holidays so they could learn things like this: 'If you want to dream you must first fall asleep. But you can't get much work done while your asleep. So the best thing to do is wake up and smell the coffee. It smells good, doesn't it? Do you want some? Then go work the dream! You'll be drinking at Starbucks soon!'

Good luck with your lame book.

If Marti is throwing a party I am in. I am all in. What else to you have to do but work hard? Is all the complaining worth it? Does it do any good? If they lay you off at least you know you are a person of value. Work hard and rest well knowing you you are better than all of this. I am probably gone in the next re-org but I will keep trying until that time. This organization may indeed lack class, but I don't. It s just poor form to give in to a bully.
