Many EEOC attorneys wanting to take our cases

not allowed to apply or denied once you apply for a position, EEOC will take care of you. Just don’t sign the papers that should be sent June 3rd. I know of several cases happening now and they were waiting for the papers since the first round was a joke. Contact a good EEOC lawyer in your city/area and you will receive more than your severance and possibly a job back with this piece of shit company (if wanted) with protection around you. This is against the law stating that you can apply for open positions, yet saying that you are not considered anymore. Aka. Informant #whistleblower

I would like to know the ages of those cut in the last 3 layoffs. Layed off two years ago and can’t get another job due to my age. I even applied for another Takeda job and no luck of getting back on. Seems all the older reps were cut. Takeda has ruined my life!

It’s not just Takeda, all Pharma and Med Device companies are blatantly declining “seasoned” sales rep and manager candidates. If you’re 50 or above, unless they cannot fill the position, you are not going to be considered. I hope EEOC Attorneys are prepared to take on the entire industry. Every company is doing it (HR, Talent Acquisition and External Recruiters) to these older yet wiser and excellent candidates who are aware and know how to document. Isn’t it going to be fun to see them get theirs? Can’t wait to see all of the company lawsuits and fines on this one.

Bad advice. You lose the case you get nothing. Take what's offered and move on. When you get your paperwork, you will also get a "revised" annual review that will basically say you were a poor performer- that's their cover- you have to acknowledge the new review before you get your package.

Terrible advice! File a complaint with the EEOC, but it will be buried because you have 0 evidence that they violated any law. Talk to a labor attorney who will rip you, as all attorneys do, for thousands. Takeda has run this layoff through the legal mill several times, I can promise you. You had your chance to leave over the last year, and you sat around on your lazy asses thinking it could never happen to me, now you are selling a me-too antidepressant to Primary Care! Shire reps did the same. Lundbeck reps have left in droves because they know they have nothing coming and no future.

I left 6 months ago, and thank God I did! Now, maybe you will actually be proactive in looking. I doubt it, because you still think it could never happen to you!

Dude. You are full of shit. Some of the people let go had 10 times the performance that you will ever have

It’s a job move on. It’s like Takeda is the only job you’ve ever had. There are a lot of opportunities in the marketplace currently. Go get a new job and cash your severance check

Shire Legacy rep, I received my severance paperwork the other day, I did not have a revise review in my paperwork, that’s total bullshit if they do that, and we were told we would receive a standard reference letter that said we were let go due to restructuring, did anyone get this?

The letter was in your revised package but it didn’t say due to restructure...it said due to site closure?????

Shire employees got screwed and a totally different packet. The only thing that cam came out ahead on is severance checks.

There may be lots of job opportunities, but if you would have been one of the “over 50” let go, you would know that most pharmaceutical companies will not hire you. So what are those employees suppose to do? Too young to retire!

Law suites coming this week. Takeda has to be the shit of shit that could give a shit about any employees. Everyone that kept your job..... don’t think that you were the best left... there were a lot of GREAT REPS CUT. NOT SURE ABOUT TAKEDA but there were many shire reps displaced that would run circles around most any rep that kept jobs. Takeda will ruin your resume and other companies/recruiters realize what a joke they are. Follow the smart ones.. B.J., Perry, Fleming and Kevin. They know he business and have all landed great jobs. I would also follow Kathy but stay far away from Kevin

Silly rabbit! There are no lawsuits filed or any coming this week. You juvenile attempt to scare Takeda is hilarious! We all knew for months what was going to happen, and you sat on your lazy ass and didn’t even start looking until the day they got rid of you. Oh, you kept saying to yourself that you would start looking any day now, but that day never came. Or, you thought how could they ever get rid of a super star like me?? You are done, finished and squished. You should have been more proactive.

Unless you have a written employment agreement with a duration of more than one year (very few people do) then you are an "employee at will" which means that you can be fired for any reason or no reason at all. Takeda can simply say that your services are no longer required and you have zero legal recourse.

The only exceptions to that are specific groups where a layoff has "disparate impact" on a particular protected group as defined in federal law. When major corporations execute major layoffs, outside labor attorneys are engaged specifically looking for any firing that is not defensible under the disparate impact rules. Major corporations are very careful on this point which is why very few cases are successful. If an attorney won't take your case on contingency, then they are worried that they can't win it. Enough said.
