Managers have know about layoffs for months!

I am a manager on the way out and we were notified and made the decisions on who and when in July. EMID, hernia and wc affected now and more EMID and EBD soon. Trust me, all this was decided by your managers.
 






Yup. I was laid off and my manager said he didn't know anything about it. I didn't believe it for a second. It is what they are told so the people that are left won't be mad to keep working for them.
 






It is believable that discussions have taken place over a period of time but what factors have been considered to determine who stays and goes is the question. Years of service or number of WC awards? Favorable relationship with Manager or VP? Subjective or Objective results? Sounds like anyone could have made your statement of the obvious.

So after all these layoffs, the directors get promoted (Stellon and Jamieson)? Not sure why. Powered is a fail and duet was recalled. Feel bad for the employees who were sacrificed so they could fund the promotions. Goes to show how messed up this place is.

Had to get stellon out of direct responsibility for the stapler before it gets out to customers and is a fail...so far after 3 years all this has produced is 3 BS press releases 1) bought Power Medical 2) 510k for idrive 3) 510k for ultra gia...thats worth 100mil isn't it? oh and don't forget getting to use "innovative" three times......priceless.

Since 2007 what innovative, disruptive, game changing technology has anyone in n. haven come up with? 5 years and a big goose egg?
 






Is this sales or does it also extend to R & D? I got cut and my manager seemed generally surprised about my getting canned. I guess I had a lot of unique things that would help the company in a discrimination law suit.
 












I am a manager and all managers knew whether they were taking a cut or not in July when Hercules was announced. All had to submit names of those who were safe due to age, race etc. in most cases that only left a few and then it came down to location. Your manager could definitely tell who was being cut in July.

No reason. Just due to the rising cost of healthcare....blah!,blah,blah. Many very good people were let go or are currently having to interview for their positions. 2nd year in a row for this. Many more are looking to leave as this place has gotten to be a cess pool for management.


Were there many cuts in EBD? Any reasoning behind those cut?
