Mad Men and Conmed

As part of my college course in business we have been watching Mad Men. Do you guys at Conmed go out at night and club around? If I move there is there an active night life with employees in NYC

Yes, it is very much like that in Utica. After work everyone goes into the big apple and anything goes. Four nights a week! Barely can drag yourself back into work. Come join the fun!

One big difference between the TV show and Conmed. Mad in the show title refers to Madison Avenue, the advertising district of NY. In Conmed's situation, the Mad refers to their management's mental state (see the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland for example).

Also, Conmed exec's aren't nearly as handsome as John Ham!

ConMed Linvatec used to have an engineering mgr named John Ham. That is until they fired his ass! He was in one of last year's layoffs of long-time employees. To bad, because he was one of the better project managers that we had in Florida.

He wasn't a MadMan , but I understand that he could party with the best of them when he was younger.

I'm interviewing for a position with ConMed Orthopedic products and Power Instruments. I've read a lot of negative feedback on the ES Division. Does anyone know anything about Power? Avg. salary, benefits, base salary, car, etc.?

You will not find any useful feedback on this forum. Look up some Linvatec reps on Linked In and get real answers.

As someone who has worked in more than one division, cronieism, sexism, mismanagement, poor compensation and flat-out lying are pervasive through all divisions, especially ES.

It's so nice to see SM having to sell again, and so wonderful to be reminded of how bad he was. SM can't even sell someone a job in a recession! How are those interviews going? I'm guessing as bad as the karate instructor.
