Is anyone in retina awake? Lucentis is about to be brought down by by the new drug from Regeneron. It is a VEGF-TRAP drug. I have talked with the top Retina Docs in Phila, PA and they are pysched! What is our company saying? Are we blind again and again?

Genentech will NOT be just fine. Lucentis will be fighting for MS with both Avastin and the Regeneron product. Answer this, is an injection in the eye every other month easier than every month? This does not even take into account the cost savings from using the Regeneron product.
Also add in Regeneron drug at least as effective, with no difference in safety profile. It wont happen overnight (reimbursement, etc) but this WILL be a problem that gradually increases over the next few years. You would have to be totally drunk on the kool to think otherwise.
Just wait until you see the price for the new Regeneron drug. Lucentis and Roche are so screwed.
Hey Turdgeneron, why are you posting on our board? pretty big talk for a company or product that hasn't generated one penny in revenue. couple of things to consider 1) didn't you read the Catt study? 6.5 injections of lucentis is as effective as lucentis monthly. doesn't that kill your dosing of 8? 2) we hope you do sell on price. that always works well in a product launch. 3) do you really think genentech is going to rollover for you? see you on the battlefield, out!
Too bad your quota is based on 12 injections per year/patient. You might keep the business convincing a Dr. to dose PRN, but you won't make your quota and won't make a bonus.
Are you saying that you will use a non approved study that dear old Genentech did not want done as a promotional tool. If so, you are so screwed. One call to HR and you are toast.

Absolutely! I was a candidate and hired. The top two for each territory went through interview process in Chicago last week. No more than 3-5 of my fellow Lucentis reps hired. Thats Gauranteed! They were not very interested in Genentech people.

Sorry, the royalties are minimal, and have nothing to do with the facts. That fact is that Eylea is kicking Lucentis' butt. Market research shows that we are not only gaining from new patients, but are actually taking tons of business away from not onnly Lucentis, but away from AVASTIN which costs only 50bucks (off label).
How can this be happening? I thought Genentech reps were the best and the brightest in the business. I guess this is even more proof positive that they can only succeed when there is no competition!
