Low Morale and It's Launch Mode, Really?

Launch is next week and none of my teammates feels excited. During any launch one shall be excited about the oppt, instead the morale in this team, region, company is down. Why?
We are off to a bad start and what that equates to are horrible future trends. Viibryd or Viiwhat, no one wants to write it. What should we do?

Honestly? My advice? Spend an afternoon in a soup kitchen serving others. Or at a downtown YMCA. Maybe spend a morning down at the employment office looking at the freshly scrubbed, earnest faces -- 100 yards deep in line -- and know that nobody's going to hire them.

Then, go get in your air-conditioned company car. Check your pay statement and your checking account. Look at your beautiful house. Go have lunch paid for by your office caterer.

But please. Don't talk to me about morale.

Nobody wants to be at our POA or launch meetings anymore - not even the DM's. This company is moving in a clearly different direction, and chances are very good that you or I won't be involved in that change. Our team decided a very long time ago to dust off the resume and do some real work - network. It's sad when our daily communication is not asking, "How'd your call with Dr. X go...but - how'd your interview go?" Instead of competing against the nation for market share, we're competing against each other for other local jobs.

My advice to you is to raise you hand and participate the first day of the launch, and then follow up with your recruiter during the breaks - it's time much better spent and you won't get harrassed by your DM for not being involved. Because let's be serious, Forest doesn't give a crap what you have to offer.

Forest has lost it's focus on what's most important..taking care of the people that make this company. I've been here for almost 10 years and never have I seen more bullshit. The DMs are terrible, the support has been lost. I have lost all confidence I'm this company.

isn't it funny that even with all of this you describe .... it still isn't worth it.

Really your Morale is low? And you came to this board to ask what to do? ok here is my advise...get a job that does not require that you have any self esteem or motivation to do anything but gripe about this being a company problem...my sales are going fine and if they were not i still consider it better than sitting in a fox hole waiting to have my arse shot off!!!
sorry for the rant, but if this is your example of low morale you have had a very easy life.

I totally agree! Forest has lost sight of the people and only care about what Wall Street thinks of them. And the DM's are so afraid of the RD's that they preach 12 calls/day with 80% sampling...sounds like they only care about quantity instead of quality. Here's to the good 'ol Celexa/Lexapro days!

Buncha losers. Sitting around a bar. "I used to be in pharma sales. It's a tough racket!"

LOL!!!! This company really sucks to work for. I've been here 7 years and was at 3 other pharma's prior. It's so sad. Morale is at an all time low here. Talk to anybody in any part of the country that is in field sales.

I had my DM that little 5'8 loser the other day, he is a wet fart and I worked him on a milk run for the ages. The reps all suck, he says, and we have a cigar and laugh....acting sure is easy. Have to hit my call numbers (which we all fake!). Our products all suck (which they do) and he said I will be fine.

I have to agree with the OP. Just do the minimum and don't even get caught up in the bs. They want a yes man? Well YES YES YES. They want 8 calls a day? I put down 9. They want an success story? I make one up. They want me to be engaged? I put on the biggest show at meetings and on CC's. The real truth is I work about 20 to 25 hours a week. Get my signatures, do my admin and forget about this shit hole of a company every day at 2 pm when I get out of my suit and go for a swim or take my son to hit some balls.

Yeah, I get all this. However, if it doesn't work for you, get the F$*#K out! I don't take myself or this job too seriously, any logical person wouldn't. We are here to do as we are told, we are not changing the world. We are well compensated and this is a damn good job, get over yourself and do it or get the blank out.

Probably the most realistic thing going on out in the field today - hit it right on the head!!!Nice post!
