Lotemax Patent Expires Today

If you ever wondered how weak of a product Lotemax is both clinically and from an
"approved" marketing perspective, consider no generic equivalent is even ready to come on the scene.

It's surprising no other companies even care to make a generic of it.
It's actually unbelievable that a generic manufacturer isn't even going after a little piece of it.

That really tells you what you need to know about the product.

you're all morons.

Companies already produce generic Lotemax.

Indian based Cipla, manufactures tons of ophthalmic drops.
They have generic lotemax. Lotaflam is 0.5% LE.

Hey, ever wonder why you get a new post op account and your scripts barely move. Because consumers buy generics online from other countries or your scripts get rolled over for a generic equivalent (yes I know there is no generic equivalent, but pharmacies do it every day)

Pharma sales is a broken business model in the new age.
You'll never make real money in pharma ever again as a sales rep.

Biotech selling specific meds for very targeted diseases like cancer or med device is the only way to go for your future careers.
B&L is sinking fast.
get out now.

I agree that pharma business model is sinking.

Disagree that LE scripts are being filled with Indian generics not approved in the USA. No pharmacist would get supply of a non-approved generics to dispense. It is too much liability and it would cost them their license if they were found out. If patients fill it from an internet vendor from India, that's plausible for chronic meds, but not likely on a post surgical prescription.

Btw, you're a moron. Had to say it, because it seems to be your favorite descriptor.

Issue #1.
your LE post op scripts get switched every day with generic pred. Every day. Every pharmacist in the country does it, and doesn't think twice. I believe I said that in the original post. And despite prefacing it with the fact that you were a moron, still you couldn't help yourself.

Issue #2.
Your off label long term chronic DRY EYE LE scripts get filled by Canadian pharmacies selling a generic form of lotemax every day. Every single day.
you're still a moron. Maybe you belong exactly where you are.

Enjoy moving that share a fraction of a percent this year... oooh great job guys!

I agree with you on both issues. I must have misread your original post because I interpreted it as saying the scripts were being filled with a generic lotemax from India, which isn't the case.

Absolutely the scripts are being switched to pred generic. But you would have to be a moron not to know that. Which obviously you are not, because you're so much smarter than the rest of us *sarcasm*.

This was in the rumor mill last year too, so I doubt it would happen. But if it did, my guess would be Ista would acquire B&L, because I dont think WP want to own another eye company. But that's just a guess.

Well you must be the biggest MORON on the planet. Yes. The rumor was flying last year - because ISTA had made an offer for the pharma business. Freddie refused offer - wanted more money. ISTA has continued to hang around to see what would happen. Well. The patent on Lotemax is now gone so ISTA can come back and offer less money for pharma unit and likely get it. What do you not understand. You must be one of the neandrathals around here who actually believed this company was going to be IPOd. Must be Rod P in Alabama.
