Loss of talent

I have to say that I am really alarmed at the good talented people who are leaving the company. Right now talented marketers don't want anything to do with working in big pharma which means that we are stuck with more of the same ol same ol. What is happening at Lilly is troublesome; building empty, workstations without people. Where will this lead ?

I really don't think we have lost to many talented people. We have let people go that- lets face it are average at best. Average people leave here because we don't promote them and they often feel they are better then they are so they leave for "greener" lawns...trouble is they are average and never perform at the new place so the cycle remains the same for them.

Sure, HR... tell that to the "average" ex-Lilly Quintiles folks. They put you to shame every day - and then they have breakfast.

At Lilly promotions have more to do with butt kissing than it does talent, skill and experience. Yes, I said "and"; I mean the combination.

We are losing great talent due to the promotion of very unqualified Individuals into key positions- Becki M is a perfect example. The list goes on and on....

Just a guess, but do you think it's related to that eerie glow http://www.cafepharma.com/boards/showthread.php?t=500503 ???

It has been quite clear for several years that performance has very little to do with promotions at Lilly. It is all about one's political skills and senior leadership's desire to have the company's group photograph look a certain way.
