Looking Forward

If we focus the company on acceleration of project timelines we should have a good year in 2012. The departments on the critical path have asked for more staff so by shifting people from non-critical path departments into the critial path areas the timelines should be met.

Probably not too soon to start working on 2012 objectives.

If all of the directors give accurate assessments of the people they need to meet next years objectives then early next year people can be reassigned to those areas. There should be no excuse next year for not making the timelines if the appropriate staffing is in place early next year.

Makes sense to me. After shifting people into the high priority areas there may be a few weeks of training required to get them up to speed on their new jobs.

Appointing a training czar to make sure the employees new bosses give them adequate training in their new roles would help with the transition.

People resist change. So unless you do an official reoganization no one will be changing jobs any time soon. Also, they will pretend that they do not know how to do the job you are moving them into in order to resist the move.

It is next to impossible to shift resources around in a company due to the resistance of the work force to trying new jobs. Get use to the inefficiency of not being able to shift people around to needed areas as it is going to be like this for a long time.
