Looking Back

I have left Hospira. I really thought I was going to be with the company long term. When the backorders started I defended the company. We had a great history of almost perfect delivery on our products. When the backorders continued I started to dread Mondays and then I started to dread every morning. I knew I would get calls that people were out of product and upset. I asked one of the top representatives how they were doing so well and they replied they were not doing anything. They were doing the same thing I was. Trying our best to take care of customers. My numbers were no longer a reflection of my hard work but more a reflection of how much I could get product to my market versus someone else who needed it as well. I am disappointed in our CEO jumping ship when project fuel went South. I have a lot of friends with the company so I really hope things go well. There are a lot of good people at the company both in the field and in the corporate office. I am no longer dreading Monday morning or every morning. My benefits are not as good but the money is equal and I am much happier. I hope this CEO can turn things around for everyone.

There is a "manager" down south that used the backkorder problems and issues against a seasoned rep with large customers. The customer thought the rep wasn't helping them get product...mostly from North Carolina. The rep said they they were competing against each other for product and the customers were unaware that thats why they could not get product....sorta like the TV series MASH, the rep left.....that manager now runs the device business. The rep felt the same way you do....with the added mix of "shish kabob" managment....over the customers grill.

I am sorry but I am looking so forward to Superbowl Sunday this year. I am glad I get to celebrate with family and friends. I was hoping they would skip the National Sales Meeting this year so you could all enjoy it as well. Maybe next year.
