Lilly to Close Singapore Discovery Center

We don't need this state of the art site anymore. The IMCLONE labs will more that make up any contributions that the Singapore labs would have potentially made.

You made me laugh so hard, pizza flew out of my mouth onto my lunch companion's tie.... now I have to buy him a tie. Good joke. Hey let's make antibodies for poor management.

Good Riddance

This place was a boondoggle from the start, and only existed to gain market entry nothing more. The research projects in metabolic disorders and cancer were ill-conceived and never held accountable for achieving anything. Now they can come to LCC and compete for the plumbers, ground-maintenance and tree planter positions...hopefully, the big heads Yes, you Yling-Yling will have nothing to return to. England, Spain--YOU'RE NEXT!!

Singapore Ladyboys

Are the Best! All the layers of management who used to go to the Center of Translational and FIPNet Medical Research used to tell me. So, we'll be retaining a dozen or so to brighten things up on the 12th Floor of Bldg. 74. So I decree. KimJohn Lill.

UK & SPAIN SITE CLOSURES

Talk of massive layoffs/closures in store for expensive research sites in UK (Erl Wood) and Spain (Alcobendas) in order for LRL to make budget/headcount reduction goals. By end of year, into Q1'11. They've been lead to believed earlier in the year they'd be spared but this has all changed. Get those CVs polished up folks...the axe is coming!

The chops coming from the feet up; they'll leave the neck for some HR consulting firm. Brought to you by the letters: JL (not JCL, the other one), AD, AP and KB. They'll be logging lots of travel time on their chopping-parade. San Diego...wake up, you're next!

FIPNET calls for all of Mfg to eventually be owned and run by a third party as well.

Sell it all off

FIPNET calls for all of Mfg to eventually be owned and run by a third party as well.

FIPNET calls for Everything except for senior management, the strategy group, and the board of directors to be owned and ran by a third party. It will cost Lilly a lot more money, but management and the BOD will all make a ton of money along the way.

Cut headcount. Cut salaries. All US and OUS global sites are on the block. No exceptions.

Well, in the absence of any pipeline success, one should be ready for the very worst. As time passes, the whole business model of drugging patients for the long-term appears to have resulted in side effects no one anticipated. After all, drugs were evaluated over the short-term and then given long-term sometimes have completely unanticipated side-effects like actually worsening the condition.

As a rule, it would be best to work with shorter-term "magic bullets" that will not have these horrible surprises. Prescription drugs should not be confused with food. If it's not food, don't eat it, as a general rule.
