Lets talk some HCV turkey?

OK, Rumor has it that Merck holds on to a pretty good regimen that is coming out of phase 2a...Got it! How long will it be till we have it in our hot little hands? When we do, the party is clearly not going to be over but the first, and second course will have been served. Dessert may or may not have been feasted on and the coffee from that desert will probably be cold................OR WILL IT? Thoughts?

How many will we loose to AbbVie? Some reps/Mgrs do have larger territories now? Do not get me wrong - Merck to the Core here, just chewing some HCV turkey fat? I am totally enjoying this new role w/HIV but some reps aren't really sure of their future. Even the HIV reps are really scared.

Well, pass me a leg; And during the whole PPI market "Thang" which I think made companies Billions. Lots of PPI's came to the marketplace working as well or better than the first, and even "Johny come lately's" managed to wrestle out a respectable (even though small) market share; which still made those respective companies gobbles (as in turkey) of money. I say Merck knows exactly what its doing!!!

One more thought though. Yes Merck and Todd know Exactly what they are doing, but they do have a lot on their mind these days. Just in case a few things have slipped through the cracks. Many of us are driving A lot. No problem there. We absolutely love you Todd and absolutely Love our Job. However, it would be nice to get rid of these little Fusions. My back is really starting to hurt. No lie! Ok. I hate complaining and there really is not much else to complain about. All else is GOOD!!!
 












So what are we going to do when abbott kills off IFN's 3rd Qrtr next year? I have heard the Rumors...even if they are true, trust me we are going to be laid off again. All you are worried about is an upgraded car? How long have you been with this division? Do you know what our market share in IFN is right now? Do you know that half the offices do not even want to see us any more? It will only get worse! Not better. You think funding will increase or decrease for our "team" ? Todd is good guy but he works for Merck. Let me say that one more time...He works for Merck! Do you think Merck is doing well right now? So when are we going to have a HCV drug again? Vertex gave their people a retention package (They can pay off their house in a year or two with their package)....did we get one? Answer that question and then start down the road to consciousness. Yes, everyone is motivated now, but let them travel 5 states for 6 months and then get a call from AbbVie. Then we go from the number of reps we have now down to half. No one wanted to work for Gilead and we still lost like 17 reps. AbbVie has a stellar reputation for taking care of their people.

Take your retention package and shove it! I'm Merck Loyal Here! I'm TP Loyal Here! I'm (My CTL) Loyal here! I'm going down with Mother if the ship sinks. If it floats, I will be fighting for every market share point we can get when its time. I'm going for every PI script I can get now, later I'm going for 50% IFN market share.

Well, I actually agree with the "moron" . Who wants to be locked in like the vertex people are? There is one more company coming for reps. The vertex people can't even interview for those positions and the Genentech people will have already left the industry or disease state. While you are being paid by Merck then why not go for 50% market share? Its do able! What I am upset with the previous poster about is giving the idea of a retention bonus. Please stop giving Merck ideas. Do you really want to be locked in? How will it look if you turn down the retention bonus? Do you see what I mean? So shut up!
 




OK seriously who is the one comparing HCV to GERD? It's not even close to the same. AbbVie's drug will be 5 or 6 pills and Gilead's will be 1. That's next year. Side effects are almost none existant and close to 100% SVR. Why on earth would a doc put a patient on the vertex or merck drug even if they do come out? Cause you put him on speaker's bureau? Just proves that what's left at Merck is truly worthless or they would be gone by now.

Maybe there is hope after all. I still am scratching my head concerning Gilead paying so much money for this drug, having their market cap increase like 60-70B dollars and hiring
imbeciles like the one who answered this question. Oh, I forget. They don't have 1 day of HCV or GI experience and they had to take a 20-30K pay cut to work for such a micro-managing company like Gilead. I cant wait for AbbVie to rake them over the coals.
