Legacy Horizon - Job Notifications

Amgen historically has left the new company alone for about a year. Then they mix it all up and do some layoffs. I highly doubt they would let tons of people go right away.

1) False
2) They have had 10 months to plan this time.

You are wrong. They aren't coming in and turning a very profitable company upside down to "amgenize" it. Its just facts. Yes will some people that are in the home office get let go- of course. But it won't be 90% of people getting laid off. It will be very minimal and you will see next week.

It's more than minimal but less than 30% layoffs. It will be tough because home office isn't used to layoffs like big pharma.

So is this really the culture at Amgen. Have a press release that says about 50% of the home office is being let go- and let this out before you let the people go?

Talk about lack of respect for people. Ultimately its fine- most everyone I know isn't pumped about working at a big pharma company like Amgen and are happy to just get paid out on unvested RSU's + severance (whatever that is). But still. Bad look.

Agree. It would have been better to send a surprise email, the night before, to everyone involved to get on a call at 8 pacific to learn their fates. That would have been humane.

We are a spoiled bunch. It’s a 27 billion dollar acquisition. Of course there will be job loss. If that happens to you? Take the cash and move onward. No one is irreplaceable. Be thankful that your grant price of 27 dollars just paid out at 116.50……

No doubt. And no one really cares if they are let go. That said it was handled horribly- you tell the people first before the media. The announcement of layoffs/ cost savings didn't spike the share price. No reason to do it in the press first.

100%. Field sales is delusional about their actual value
