Haha you really think RSUs mean they will keep us around?! That's silly! Why do you think the first vesting period is in mid 2016 and the message is that there will be no changes until the end of this year?

By the time any vesting occurs half of PCYC will be gone. RSUs are just meant to keep plp from walking away for the next 6 months or so, while they are trying to figure out what kind of ground they are stepping on.
 






The RSU values won't keep most of us around. People are just waiting for the rest of their stock to vest until the end of the year and crossing fingers that they get let go so they can get that 1 year severance!
 






That's another issue...judging by how mgmt has mislead employees over and over, I doubt this one year severance thing will actually happen. I'm sure there's some fine print somewhere that will give everyone 3-6 mons at most.

Abbvie usually tries to negotiate away severance packages when acquiring companies. Severance is not a given. In addition, a 60 day WARN. They could skate around that based on the # of employees. Severance is typically 1 week for every year of service plus any unused vacation. That's it. Good luck, you're going to need it. They are getting into an unknown therapeutic area, similar to when they entered HepC. Look how well that's going...hopefully Jeff Haas won't eff up things as well.
