layoffs

are more layoffs coming in general medicines? heard they are planning to hire a contract sales force to sell exelon patch...any truth to that? are physicians getting samples by mail in all areas across the US or only in the midwest?

They will do layoffs and they have Lane Wilson out there spending big bucks on Patch commercials after Aricept went generic. I guess a lot of people missed their advertising and economics in college. They must have been the online courses.

It should be no surprise to any of us that layoffs will happen again. Unless Tek brand starts to take off we will see generic Diovan and Exforge next year. Remember, Pfizer stopped promoting Norvasc about 6 months before its expiration. Unless we get some new and exciting information in the bag before the end of year, I personally would expect to see another downsizing across the board.

I think the Inventiv contract reps are the new customer service reps (sample droppers) that have been hired in limited territories. It is part of a test pilot program. They will be sampling the "no see" offices but will overlap with reps as well. We will be working with them directly although in a limited manner. Perhaps CSRs will replace a significant number of reps. The future may already be here...after all...Diovan will go generic in 18 months and the Tek family is doing marginally at best.

It's true - a contract force is being hired for Patch. Only makes sense for Ilaris reps to eventually sell Reclast which would make for a true CV portfolio. And those pods really only need 2-3 reps max. Layoffs are coming and I pray that this time it's me.
